I loved the direction bumgie was headed with their last games, sad, desperate, etc.. It showed how dangerous the covenant really was. In ODST you could barely escape and you were always on the defensive. In Reach, even as you plowed down armies of Covenant, they would keep coming just to overwhelm you. I want this tone to reappear. I remember getting this game. My parents werent in the best situation economically speaking, but they would always find the way to make me happy. I remember being 10 years old and somehow getting an xbox in Christmas; I was excited, for it came with lego batman and this game: Halo ODST. As my parents didnt had much money, they went and looked for the cheapest halo game, a franchise they knew i loved from playing at my cousins place, and found this. I only played lego because I wanted to save the best for last. As a child I thought all halo games were happy and funny because I only remembered having fun on multiplayer with my cousin. The thing is... My xbox was banned. Since my parents didnt had much money they bought it from a dubious seller. It was a boomer, but I thought it was normal back then, so I didnt care much. A few days later I am home Alone, and decide to relax with finally some halo. I started to play it... before I knew it, 12pm, rain outside, and I have myself, a game, and a soundtrack that send shivers down my spine every single time. I knew that even if it was some silly music, or some silly character, I had an adventure to go through; neither my parents fighting, nor bullying of many sorts would take that from me. I had a place that felt good, a place where I could disconnect... finally, a place like a home. People put love into this game which is what got me through a rough time in my childhood, and Im so thankful for it. So i dont care if im just some dramatic comment in a youtube comment section, I care about the creators of this game. You will never read this, but thanks from the most deep layer of my beaten heart. Thank you. You make videogames love rather than a business. You make people smile rather than sad. You make people. You made...No... you save us from a sometimes rotten reality, and give us memories to reminisce of in times of need... thanks.

Pre-halo 5 ODST needs a Sequel, finish the rookies story, all they have to do is pull the info from a couple books, make a decent game, and there we go, new ODST, but I think the only reason they havent made ODST 2 yet is because 343i is Incompetent, cant even PORT A GAME OVER without having more bugs then a flea farm... BUT because it would be hard to impossible to TOP that atmosphere, story and emotional level of Halo 3:ODST which should've been called Halo 2: ODST, since it takes place during that game.

Many say ODST was a cash in. It's not. Sure its a skin of 3, but they've done it in such a way that it feels like its own game. This game is one of my favorite Halo games ever, and I thank Bungie for going as far as they did to please us fans of the Halo franchise. It's sad that 343 has NO idea about what really makes a Halo game a Halo game. Hopefully they make Halo 6 with their fans criticisms in mind. I like the ODST suits so much more comfortable than the Mjolnir suits. The spartan suits look like a spandex/Kevlar skin with titanium armor plates and hardpoints, whereas the ODST armor looks like an EVA capable ACU with ceramic composite armor plates. The ODST armor also looks like it is more combat ready, with more ammunition and ordnance slots than its Spartan counterparts.

It is always better to carry more ammunition than less. It is understandable to not have as much ammo because of the fact that you won't need much. But talking from second hand experience, things never really go as planned in actual combat, so having spare ammunition never hurts, especially when you do a unassisted orbital reentry like Noble 6 did.XP

A lot of people gave this game shit and considered it the worst Halo game. This was of course before Halo wars n' everything else after it. These people hated it simply cause it was boring, and wasn't as action packed as the previous Halos where when to me in my opinion this game wasn't suppose to be like that. You where ment to experience the after math of New Mombasa blowing up being I believe the first city to be attacked by the Covenant, millions of fucking people died that day yes millions practically an entire civilization worth of humans gone in the blink of an eye. As someone else mentioned before me, the feeling of hopelessness was overwhelming in Bungies final games. So much more powerful than 343i's garbage cartoony game. ODST felt like you were just a normal person fighting in the streets behind enemy lines. I wish they'd focus on the marines more in the games. Such an untouched possibility.

I seriously cannot wait for Spring and Summer. One of my favorite things to do is to walk around late at night when it's raining listening to these soundtracks. It's so peaceful. I can't describe the joy that I feel from them. It really helps with my depression and anxiety.

I don't know who will read this, but this soundtrack always brings all my emotions out, and I just cry for hours. I remember playing the Halo games with my squad of 4 (not counting me), usually multiplayer, I remember seeing this one come out, and all 5 of us took turns one night playing this game. Drinking Mountain Dew and eating Little Ceasers. And slowly over the course of a few years, I lost two of them to Cancer and one to a car accident. Then had a very brutal falling out with the last one, all happening before I graduated HS in 2016. It's been a very long and super lonely 7 years, no one to talk to no one to laugh with, just this pent-up depression that I can't do anything with. I can relate to the Rookie being alone, behind enemy lines, and afraid of the next thing to come around the corner. There were many a time I just wanted to curl up and die since no one seemed to care for little ol' me and there was no light at the end of the tunnel. But since 2020, I got married and have two kids that I play games with to try and keep that little hope that someday, someone will come to rescue me. Keep up the fight soldiers, the hardest part is yet to come, it may seem bleak now but every second you're alive is a victory.

Even in the soundtrack it shown how dark the situation of humanity was, how they were desperate to defeat their enemy and continue to survive. 343 got all of this, and threw it out the window. In halo humanity seemed like they were in a dire situation, being slaughtered by this extra terrestrial threat. When 343 made halo, it completely changed and it seemed like even the strongest covenant enemies would get obliterated easily. I miss the times when humanity really seemed like they had no choice and were losing, now its just "yeah whatever just wipe out that entire covenant fleet not a big threat or problem"

Andrew878D I loved the direction bumgie was headed with their last games, sad, desperate, etc.. It showed how dangerous the covenant really was. In ODST you could barely escape and you were always on the defensive. In Reach, even as you plowed down armies of Covenant, they would keep coming just to overwhelm you. I want this tone to reappear.

I will never forget exploring the dark streets of that place.... Its just me, this A.I, and my weapon. The rain falls as I look up and see nothing but darkness. And around every corner could be something that might break me in half. This place was once where civilians roamed and now its just me behind enemie lines. The struggle for ammo increases as I sneak around and use whatever there is, even if it comes down to using their own weapons against them. I WILL NOT let them defeat me, for I am fighting to survive and I'll do just that. These covenant think they can easily defeat me, but I would beg to differ. Go ahead, bring a scarab to the fight. I never asked for a fair fight as there is more than one battle in a war. I don't care if I'm outnumbered. I'm human. I will never forget my origins as they are fight to survive. As I discover clues as to where my allies might be the enemy is getting more powerful. They will not defeat me, as I am a soldier that will not let them do this to me... Stealth is my most powerful weapon. The enemy doesn't know stealth. I am an ODST. I was built for this. I may be a Rookie, but that doesn't mean I don't know how to use a gun.

When I was younger I hated this game, I wanted to be a powerful spatyan beating the heck out of the convenant, but I was a normal soldier, not a powerful armor, not super strength, nothing. Now, I grew up, and played ODST again, and I really enjoyed the game because you’re a soldier trying to find your squad and escape, the same reason I hated it on the past. Damn, now I want more games like this, just a regular soldier on the battlefield. (Sorry for bad English, it’s not my primary language )

Imagine this: ODSTs in the Arctic regions of a planet fighting the Covenant. Their suits have an EROL White and Grey/Blue camouflage pattern instead of their standard EROL Black and Grey camouflage pattern. Their battle rifles are suppressed with toggled lights and blue laser sights. They drop a far ways back behind enemy lines and, because of science it would make sense, their drops through the sky would be muffled through the fast-falling snow. They arrive and form a squad formation. One of them has a suppressed sniper rifle with a blue laser sight as well alongside the rest of their SMGs, ARs, and BRs. They tread quietly through the snowfall to stealthily take out hostiles within a small, Covenant outpost. *Armor is from Halo: Reach instead of Halo 3: ODST because of the better armor fitting and pocketing. Plus, they have armored collars and are more field military like.*

This is what started my love for halo. I played this at my dads house one time when I must’ve been 8 and I loved it so much that I knew I had to get it for myself. So I asked my mom to get me halo 3 ODST, but she accidentally got me halo 3. From there I found custom games and met all the great people that I still play with to this day. I for one grabbed this as my first "I'll work through the series to the end" franchise, when ODST came out it took me six months of constantly trying to scrounge up a few bucks to get it. I played it with a cousin of mine who is no longer with us.
