I finally managed to put to words what this song makes me feel and see...If you could indulge me for but a moment, I would like you to imagine the scene with me, with this song played over it. A guttural roar shatters the oppressive silence, a visceral reminder that the pack of brutes has locked onto your scent. Panic surges through your veins as you sprint through the desolate, rain-soaked streets of New Mombasa. Wrecked vehicles become your makeshift hurdles, corners transform into fleeting sanctuaries, and buildings offer only brief respite as you dart through them in a desperate bid to escape the relentless pursuit. The relentless pounding of your boots on the wet pavement is drowned out by the ominous thud of the brutes' heavy footsteps echoing behind you. Their snarls, a cacophony of primal aggression, intensify with every passing moment, driving you to push your limits. Your breaths come in ragged gasps, each one a desperate plea for more oxygen as your heart pounds mercilessly in your chest, drowning out all other sounds. As you vault over wrecked vehicles, the acrid scent of burning debris fills the air. Shadows dance menacingly in the dimly lit surroundings, and the fear of the unknown amplifies the terror gripping your soul. You find a momentary haven, pausing to take cover and unleash a flurry of gunfire. The crackling discharge reverberates through the air, momentarily causing the pursuing brutes to stagger. It's a fleeting pause, a gasp for survival, as you seize the opportunity to reload and steal a precious moment to catch your breath. In the dim glow of the smouldering ruins, your sights lock onto one of the brutes. With a surge of adrenaline, you take aim and fire, the recoil jolting through your body. A sharp, sickening thud confirms the precision of your shot as the brute crumples to the ground, lifeless. But instead of deterring the pack, the loss triggers a feral rage. The remaining brutes, now unhinged, howl in fury, their pursuit escalating to a feverish pitch. Back onto the rain-soaked streets, through dimly lit alleys, and behind scorched rubble, you race, desperately seeking any means to break their line of sight. The flickering streetlights cast eerie shadows, each one a potential harbinger of your demise. Every corner turned, every fleeting refuge sought, heightens the gnawing fear that they are always just a heartbeat away. The desperation in your movements mirrors the intensity of the chase, a relentless dance with doom through the heart of darkness.

Interesting. If you listen to the percussion in this soundtrack it is the same as the percussion that is heavily featured in Overture from Halo Reach

Good catch! I've forgotten about that tid bit over the years. Marty and Salvatori did wonders with the Halo music.

Halo 3 ODST`s soundtrack was made almost at the same time Halo Reach was being developed, so it is logical Martin O'Donnell would use the same instruments, i just feel this has a bit of Halo 3`s style with Reach instruments, and a more Noir original feel to it, great work from the composer.
