Cheers for this, I've been looking for "how much weight can master chief lift?" for a while now, and I think this has helped. It also has to do with the height of the person. Most of the cosplayers are of average height. I personally would love to get my hands on a set of that armor. At 6' 6'' I think I would look pretty good., at least after I lost a few pounds. XD

Chief's armor weighs a ton in Halo, and can only be worn by a spartan candidate who has past all augmentations that way the armor can be worn and used properly. True we have the tech to make it, and cut down costs and weight, but you need to design an armor that is bulletproof, fall proof, unbreakable, mobile, agile, and designed for each individual person. We dont have that kind of technology to put in a suit that can be used in the field of combat yet. Great concept though.

MJOLNIR armor is around a full ton. it is bulletproof AND it has shields. the MJOLNIR armor also boosts any physical abilities, but every bone in your body would break at once if your bones were not enhanced. the armor would make your motions so fast your bones would break in a matter of seconds, if not less. if you want to learn more, read The Fall of Reach, thats where i got my info

Scyfer1417 well titanium is pretty bulletproof and its very light. Half an inch thick or a quarter inch thick would be impenetrable to most one shot from a 50cal sniper or too many shots from a heavy assault rifle would for sure break through but other than that it is bulletproof. Also when it comes to mobile and agile knights wore around 4 millimeters thick of steel armor that covered their whole bodies head to toe and was layered in certain areas and it only weighed around 60 pounds which is less than the average backpack weight of a modern soldier that and in their armor knights were able to mount horses, climb, jump, use melee weapons, do somersaults, and much more so they had no mobility problems when fully suited. Now you have to remember that titanium is a lighter metal than steel, a stronger metal than steel, and it would only be in the metal green sections if modeled after the chief so it would be with bulletproof and very mobile and agile. It wouldn't be fall proof, unbreakable, or cheap but it would get the job done. You could use spider silk, recently discovered to be stringer than steel and is currently in development to replace kevlar, as all the black under armor as well as throw an extra layer of spider silk under all the metal parts as extra padding and protection. It would take quite a lot of money, quite a lot of time, a little better tech than currently available, and someone who is much much stronger than the average man or woman to use or even make this armor but it is possible, though it would be a different from the armor seen in game.

This thing is really great, but I would say that if they wanted to take it to the max, they should resize the visor and retexture the armor. Also, you can see his chin under the helmet.

Need some titanium, gold wire, a POWERFUL power supply for an electromagnetic shielding circuit to be placed on the surface of said armor, if you look up the "Z-2" terrestrial exploration suit for NASA- some serious nanofiber technology converts heat and movement in joints to electricity, a MASSIVE understanding of ceramics and polymers, good sense of programming for visor interface and pretty much every little component for internal and external sensors. This all combined will out gun most if not all present military hardware, exception of high explosives, but armor variation can counter. plus a gill and hydrogen fuel cell system can counter the infamous "spartan dies in deep water" situation that happens in every halo game. Armor pressurization for aquatic and extra-atmospheric operation and firmware variations/upgrades can be added for weapon and/or vehicle interfaces. Just add an A.I. to further enhance armor functionality/capabilities. Shouldn't cost more than a house, IF you know what you are doing.

Honestly, it would be cheaper to build your own armor. While, yes, it would be much more difficult, it would be cheaper, and more satisfying. You would personally be able to tweak each and every minute detail of your armor. You should check out the 405th. Right now, the site is experiencing some difficulties, making it hard to use, but you can still get some great help from there.

I'm thinking of making a character named all out might, or at least that's what the prototype idea name is, the suit is made to do tae quan doe moves, (snap kick, punch, etc) I only have the arms and the shirt and that's not very detailed... I have 2 questions, got any tips? And can someone help me out?

It's possible but they wouldn't be cost effective :/ they would have to custom fit on every soldier, would have to be light weight but still be able to withstand bullets and "explosions", be able to see out the visor without restricting field of view (which isn't really possible) and provide the maneuverability and comfort required to move around and shoot things (carry equipment)..all well and good if you can get the money together to provide all those things to every soldier in the military...

Thanks for all the interest in our suits. Sadly we cannot sell them as ultimately Microsoft owns the design. I can't reveal the cost but we had a talented core crew of about 15 working for over 4 weeks. We're certainly talking a lot more than £200!

The armor in 3 was so much better. In 4, instead of armor, it just looks like metal plates strapped to an elastic suit. It doesn't overlap anywhere, and it doesn't look like it would actually be effective as an armor. Why would you not heavily armor the joints? Why leave so much of the suit exposed?
