I was 5 years old when Halo Combat Evolved came out. It took me a few years of my early youth. But I beat the game. And I remember the day Halo 2 came out. Later my cousin and I stayed up all night to beat the Campaign. It was probably the first time in my life I ever stayed up past midnight. Then Halo 3 came out. That was when I first got Xbox Live. Oh my god the Custom Games. The endless hours of fun. The trash talking. All the cool file share clips and maps. It was unparalleled. I really got to see the beginning and end of an era. I couldn't be more thankful to be a part of it.

@@2huPure kind of, Bungie signed on to be a first party studio for Microsoft and then when they wanted to leave, MS and Bungie came to an agreement to make 2 more games after 3 and sell the franchise to MS. Bungie went on to make (in my opinion) a pretty meh experience in Destiny 1+2 and 343i was created to make Halo games (so far only Halo Wars 2 was to the usual standards imo). I don't think Bungie would have made better Halo games than 343i did, they fell in similar traps and the writing was on the wall for Halo at the time. Most of the movement and art style changes were done in Reach, a fact many forget.

I still remember the first time I played this sequence. My friend had this game and we played through it over a long weekend. It was my first twin stick game and i sucked at it still. My friend was always the warthog driver and i was the gunner. Then about halfway through the warthog run he somehow bites it. There are too many random enemies around for him to respwan so i have to hop out and get behind the wheel for the first time to finish out the run to beat the game. It was absolutely amazing and cemented my love of this series to this day.
