To answer some of your questions: 1. The really big, bulky, Covenant guys are called Hunters. They are in actuality worms who have grouped together to form a colony. A colony is then split into 2 entities (Hunters) who work in pair. These colonies of worms are armored and are basically walking tanks. 2. The piano music comes from "Halo 3:ODST",.I think the animators added the music when the ODST steps into the rain and looks up as a nod to that game. It reminds me a great deal of some of the shots of the Rookie in the trailers for the game. 3. The golden elite was a General, and it is possible it was the same one who would eventually become the Arbiter (as he was also a gold-elite and in charge of the invasion of Reach). The invisible ones where Spec Ops Elites and they often carry swords. The one who was dual wielding them was what I would call a Spec Ops Ultra, as he wore Ultra armor, but was the same color as the normal Spec Ops Elites. 4. The battle of Reach was literally fought in orbit and all over the surface of the planet. It was an all-out invasion from the Covenant. Reach was the second most fortified human world, next only to Earth. It was also the home planet of the Spartan program. When the marine says something like "I didn't think I would ever see this many Spartans" he is referring to that Spartans where top-secret and where spoken of as legends. When Reach was attacked, all available Spartans where called home to defend it. This is the premise of the saying that Master Chief was "the last spartan" in Halo 1-3, as most Spartans deployed to Reach died there. 5. Covenant ships are seen performing their signature move against human worlds: Glassing. They burn the surface with plasma beams until the surface turns to glass. There is nowhere to hide on the surface when the Covenant comes. In Halo lore, they murder so many billions of humans that we almost go extinct, by definition. 6. Yes, so this animation ties in with the end of Halo: Reach and we can see that it was not very far away from the launch of The Pillar of Autumn.

FUNNY ENOUGH, the hunters were also the first species to give the Covenant actual trouble in conflict. Granted iirc this was when it was just the prophets and elites, but they still gave them a very, very hard time

That gold general was definitely not the Arbiter. Thel Vadamee would have been in orbit commanding his fleet to track the Pillar of Autumn to Halo

@@Brandinisnores Ok, not debating you. Just thought it was possible due to remembering something about Thel had a tendancy to personally lead battles on the ground. The Pillar of Autumn leaves at the conclusion of the animation so it seems possible that Thel could have been on the ground and gone back to his fleet once the human ship fled. However, I defer to more knowledgable fans :)

I think your halo reach reaction was just to the cutscenes, and didn’t include in-game cinematics or scripted events or dialogues. But when you were delivering cortana to the pillar of autumn on foot, you could see another battle far away from where noble team were, this is basically the fan animated version of that battle. And in lone wolves the final mission in halo reach (where noble 6 died) is the same field these spartans died too, i mean you can see the spartan dead bodies and odsts and marines all across the lone wolves map

9:53 those are hunters. Imagine a bunch of worms combined into one big blob then that big blob spits in 2 and each form into a body that gets armor wrapped around it and a giant plasma beam and shield on each arm respectively

Yep that was the same ship at the end of reach. This is the story of another spartan 3 fireteam like noble team and the cannon that shot the covenant cruiser is the character you play as.

Eeeeh, no, not really. Those Spartans are random generated, and even then don't look like any of these guys. Entirely different spartan team, but pretty much in the same region considering

@YettoriTheYeen There's also the fact the lone wolf mission takes place at what looks like a depot, with the Spartans being dead around or inside a building. These Spartans, save for the jetpack one, all died in the open

Yeah, this planet and setting was a major turning point in the war. Planet itself was the entirety of the military industrial complex. The production of this planet accounted for a majority of all weapons, vehicles, and ships used by the unsc. It was also during this war where nearly every spartan, including master chief, gathered. Losing this planet and most of the super soldiets there was a heavy blow for the unsc. But it also brought in hope for a strategic chain of victories later on for the unsc.

This whole Halo war is at Reach, they basically were couple of clicks from New Alexandria and their last mission was basically trying to stall for Noble 6 and Noble 4 to finish delivering Cortana to Captain Keyes and helping them escape.

It's amazing how few people, me included, see the title and actually put together it's about reach even though the phrase "Remember Reach" is so famous in Halo. I'm not making fun, even I didn't realize it but it really should have been obvious it was about reach when you look back at it.

@@WarriorHumble24 I recommend looking up lore (summaries) of only 4 things: - the Pendulum Wars (the conflict preceding the games that made many of the characters you play as veterans), - the Locust and the Lambent (the main enemies of the games, though given lore revelations of the last 2-3 games any recent lore videos will contain major spoilers for games Gears of War 4, 5, and Tactics), - the Hammer of Dawn (a major weapon in game that basically ended up wrecking most of the world) - Aspho Fields (first game starts with the main character in prison and being let out, and that battle explains why)

Has bits of gameplay and plot-crucial in-game dialogue that most game movies miss out on due to purely using cutscenes, but is still brief and concise enough you don’t end up watching the whole game.
