@MinecraftPro15 The Chirf and Spark also had a conversation in the Library covering much the same content in the book The Flood. On a related note need to remember humanity are the Inheritors of the Forrunners Will and technology. Even more interesting is that Guilty Spark was made from Chakas, and he still carries the essence of Forthencho Lord of Admirals. So the meeting of Chief and Spark was like a reunion between long lost acquaintances, Chakas and Bornstellar, and the reawakened rivalry between The Lord of Admirals and the Didact. Additionally, when the Gravemind makes the "Child of my enemy" line, it may have also recognized Chief's Didact geas, and was addressing the singular Forerunner responsible for firing the Halo array.
@chrissonofpear1384

Quite possible. A lot of those lines were likely reinterpreted as the writing of the backstory went on, and the humans were established to NOT be literally Forerunner descendants...

It would be cool if it weren't for the fact that this would only be a writing achievement only created through coincidence and retroactive changes and retcons to halo's story telling. Bungie had no conception of 'ancient humanity' outside of the forerunners (since they were implied to be literally one in the same from the start) and generally speaking if they did, it would have kind of damaged the allegory they were going for with the whole first and second covenant, as well as their reference to John 11:7 in the bible, and how he was a savior to humanity for preventing the second flood from killing them off, along with how 'the ark' is literally a reference to 'noah's ark,' etc.
@chrissonofpear1384
@chrissonofpear1384 3 жыл бұрын
@@Gogglesofkrome Yep, though in such cases, the analogy is already mixed. The Flood wasn't the cure, in much religious texts, not the disease. And then there's the issue of who the savior was vs who initially endangered, of course.
@Mrpdragon191
@Mrpdragon191 3 жыл бұрын
@@Gogglesofkrome Maybe, but we truly don't know the full extent of what Bungie was thinking back in the day. They could have been planning to expand on that conversation between Chief and Spark, or they could've been setting the seeds for what 343 would later continue in the reclaimer saga. It is just too much of a strange coincidence that Spark is repeating the same conversation he had with Bornstellar as he if he had had it with Chief. To me that shows an incredible amount of foresight on the part of Bungie. Also, I like that you brought up the Biblical allegory. But why do you think the concept of ancient humanity outside of the forerunners would have ruined that? I just want to make sure I understand you correctly.

I never really thought about that moment in Two Betrayals, just kinda wrote it off as him being kinda crazy. I, had not considered that. Running off of that, if Halsey has the Librarian as a geas, and John has the Iso Didacts, that could explain why; 1. Halsey is/was attracted to Chief and 2. Why Cortana and Chief are somewhat of a love story, considering Cortana is an AI made of Halsey... Holy shit man. You may just be onto something here! This may deserve a video! Installation00 That makes so much sense! I loved this video much and, even though the idea of geas is somewhat...out there, it still makes sense to me. It definitely makes sense when the Ur Didact eventually did that to Born Stellar, thus creating the Iso Didatct. And same for The Lord of Admirals on Chakkas. What’s even cooler is how you highlighted that way back when we were all wee lads playing Halo CE, 343 Guilty Spark speaks directly to Chief as if he was the Iso Didact. This always perplexed me and I could ever explain it, especially when Spark says “You aaaarreeee Forerunner!” I just always was like, “Yeah okay cool let’s get on with it then.”

They seemed to completely drop the plot of Master Chief's mutation by Halo 5. I hope they delve back into it in Infinite. I like to believe the Librarian manipulated his biology closer to the advanced ancient humans. He could, provided he survives and retires to live a relatively normal life, could help kickstart a new stage of evolution of humanity through his offspring. The Librarian also seemed to indicate that Cortana had a greater purpose, something more than just the new big baddie and there was talk of trying to return composed individuals into an organic form. I was expecting that Cortana would eventually obtain a biological or hybrid form (this was when she was still descending into rampancy and before the domain).

If chief really sees himself as a Spartan in armor inside his own mind, cortona was right to ask which one of them was the machine, and which one was human.

Maybe Cortana could also percieve IsoDidacts Geas as referenced at the start of Arrival on H3 (also the name of the first Marathon chapter) Also you have to consider how much better the cheif is as a warrior than the IsoDidact being able to predetonate and detonate rings with a subpar class of battle armour

Back when I was little I always found the level Two Betrayals, interesting... like we were missing something at the time, but that something had to do with chief. I’m really really surprised that being that young that particular line from Spark made me think what the name of the mission meant, or at least had a double meaning... like spark turning on the chief was a betrayal* but the second made me think of the conversation between him and the chief, as if the firing of the halos was some type of betrayal in itself... I was a weird kid lolz.

I don't think the Librarian was composed, I think it was just her Durance, as we know she perished in the firing of the Halo array. For the Isodidact, I agree chief could have his geas, but I'm not sure about him composing himself to continue in galactic affairs and as for him being the one in Chief's head in Shutdown, I don't think he'd be so antagonistic towards him, I think it's the Ur-Didact using the domain the same way the Gravemind was able to use it to send Chief images of Cortana and messages from himself.

I stopped at 16:27, I too thought there something Forerunner about Chief even after reading Halo: The Flood way back in 2007. Also, in Halo 3: Spark proclaims "You are Forerunner..." I took this as Spark being hyperbolic as the Humans now have the Mantle, perhaps it is much more for this Recliamer as he is possibly indeed harboring the Geas of Bornstellar Makes Eternal Lasting Iso Didact. Even in the H:CE Anni terminals Spark notices something.

Holy crap one hell of a vid! 15:25 - I don't think 343 Guilty Spark saw Chief as Didact or Forerunner. More accurately, he seemed to recognize Chief as human and therefore a Reclaimer, or essentially, him thinking that if the humans ever saw the rings again, it was on purpose and they would have known about them. As was said in Halo 3, "You are Forerunner." He was preprogrammed to assume that. about any humans he would have encountered. He also expresses in Halo 2 excitement about humans being on Delta Halo, referring to them all collectively as Reclaimer. Forerunners knew they were going to be extinct, so they marked humans as their heirs, and instructed their installations and technology to recognize them as such. Lastly, we get cutaways of Spark talking and he's always talkative to any human about containment, explaining just about everything regardless of if asked or not. It's fully possible the talk was just not shown as Chief was fishing for more information and an explanation about what firing Halo may mean.No fancy time travel gene seed needed.

HEY @Installation00 , I have a video idea that I want to share and that you could maybe expand upon!! So, to my understanding, the "Geas" within humanity is somewhat like an inherited genetic subconsciousness, in other words, their ancestors spirits. The Librarian (in Halo 4) would describe humanities unlocked genetic potential to be hidden within our "Gene Song". Given that A, C, G, and T are the "letters" of the DNA code; they stand for the chemicals (A), cytosine (C), guanine (G), and thymine (T), respectively, that make up the nucleotide bases of DNA. Although Halo is a fictional universe with lore and science we don't have, this is the something that is similar to real life. In music, we have the "musical alphabet" letters A, B, C, D, E, F, and G. Maybe the science of genetics in Halo is sound or harmonically based. After all, the bible even says: “By the word of the Lord the heavens were made, and by the breath of His mouth all their host.”

So is chiefs body now matching the ancient humans body because of the forced devolution by the didact with some other mutations like the immunity to the composer. Because ancient humans were at one point at basically on equal footing to the forerunners.
