I'll give you credit for the "5" minutes, but it's not a full explanation at all. In fact, you could have described the flood's primary food source being calcium rather than saying "nom nom nom". Nevertheless, you didn't even try to describe key things such as the fall of reach, the wars between Koslovics, Friedens, and eventually the U.N. If anyone wants to know what the Halo franchise actually is you must read through the Halo Encyclopedia and for some of the experience, the books and games are good for that (music and movies too :D).

As a Spartan-II, he is unable to feel sexual(and perhaps also romantic?) attraction. And Cortana was created when John was an adult, so it's much more likely that he sees Cortana's "mother" Dr. Halsey as a mother figure than Cortana.

Chief wasn't the only spartan accounted for: There were four remaining Spartan's who were accounted for, Fred 104, John 117, Kelly 087 and Linda 058. Chief was the only one who was close to earth and was chosen by Cortana as her bearer, that's why the story focuses on her. The other 3 spartans are on different worlds also fighting.

I got a 360 just to play the Halo and Gears franchises. I couldn't be any happier. I recently got Reach and beaten it 4 times on solo. That's how hyped up I was for this game. I love the oldschool FPS gameplay where you don't really aim down the sights, and the enemies don't die in 2 bullets. It's very mentally strategic and fun. My next game purchase is definitely Halo Anniversary. I cannot get enough of oldschool shooters, I find them more challenging and diversified because of the gameplay

She is deteriorating due to rampancy brought on by old age. It is unknown whether getting back to Halsey would have helped (no other AIs have been rescued from rampancy). The portals accelerated her decline as did splitting off her rampant personalities on the Didact's ship. She stayed on the ship rather than escaping in the same way she saved the chief because she knew she was already finished.

If the post credit scene in Halo 3 shows the half ship Cortana and Chief orbiting the Forerunner Planet, why did it take four years until it decided to start scanning the ship?

Good lord, just because Halsey SUSPECTED that she could bypass the 7 year lifespan doesn't mean that Cortana can magically recover from Rampancy and be brought back to life all of a sudden. Also the Didact is most likely alive but that is because we saw him fall into a Slipspace rupture beneath the Composer. Also Cortana was stuck on the Didact's ship which got blown up by a 30 megaton nuke. She didn't interact with the Compower so she absolutely cannot be on Requiem like the Prometheans are.

It feels the exact same as the other Halo games in a lot of ways. It's funny people bitch about it the most considering gameplay wise, it plays better than any previous Halo in terms of balancing and everything else, and in terms of story it's also the most well presented and emotional Halo game because you actually have a real reason to care (we both know Cortana and Chief pretty well - so we can sympathize with their problems. Whereas in Reach you don't even know who your allies really were before they die.)

There is a difference. Halo 3 ODST has been out for over 3 years now and the picture itself isn't particularly spoileriffic. All any average youtuber could glean from it is that the person who drew it likes both ODSTs and Engineers. Having a picture of Soap McTavish and the letters "R.I.P" next to him is a much more blatant spoiler as it is actually giving away details of the plot of Modern Warfare 3.

Although i agree with you that the halo 4 story line and campaign is not up to standard it is still fun to walk through the amazing environments and experience the new weapons. The multi-player does feel a bit like COD but the armour abilities and the game types let you play the game how you want to, unlike in halo reach where everything is chosen for you in a multi-player match.

There is a thing we call fiction in which "everything is possible" emphasis on the word "everything". We call it "bad storytelling". 343i have obviously put a great deal of time and effort into definitively ending Cortana's role in the story of Master Chief and any attempt to prolong that or magically bring her back would be silly.

That doesn't mean that chief and Cortana were there at all in fact it proves the point that they couldn't have been there for those 4 years. If the covenant saw a human vessel enter a "holy" planets orbit they would destroy it no matter how damaged. And it'd be really hard to miss half of a giant spacecraft in orbit for 4 years. Aren't there actually two arks? The one they destroyed was actually the smaller ark which builds smaller halo installations, but there was a bigger one that makes bigger more powerful halos. It might have gotten destroyed in the forerunner-flood war though I'm not sure.

The only reason I accepted Reach was the fact it was a prequel, which is why they claimed there was no duel-wielding. The story wasn't bad, it was okay. At least it still made you feel somewhat for the characters. But when Cortana died in Halo 4, I wasn't crying because she died. I was crying because she had to die in a lousy Halo knock-off. And seriously, duel-wielding in Halo 3 but not 4? 4 was supposed to get back on track, not make it worse.

No it was a complete replacement. Installation 04 is thousands of miles away inside the galaxy, likely still disintegrating from its explosion, while the Ark is just outside the galaxy to avoid the blast of the Halo Array.

Also she wasn't changed at all after getting in the way of the Composer at Ivanoff Station so we can assume that the Composer does not affect AI's. It only follows the story line because they made it new after the events of halo 3. I can tell you now that the original halo story line was leaning towards a different direction before halo 4. The point of video games is to play the game and understand, not read books. If you have to look outside a video game to understand, that's when you know the video game has failed.
