This actually has been a thought of mine for a while since Halo 5, I feel like as a teammate, I'd be more happy with a less kill-skilled but more objective-oriented player. Like it's great if the mode is slayer, but for objective games, I feel like I'd just be frustrated. But still fun to watch and learn from.

That's actually no longer the case. You can get up to 1000xp daily by completing 6 matches.

Yes he isn’t playing the direct objective of getting seeds back to base, but by fragging the enemy team, and staying near base he is inadvertently helping. He is playing a more defensive role by stopping steals, and keeping power weapons out of the enemies hands. Imo you need 1-2 people playing over watch like this if you are to ensure the enemy team has no chance of making a comeback.
