I love how every single Spartan is completely surrounded by either bodies or extremely damaged environments. It really drives home how difficult it is to kill even just one of these lethal warriors, and it makes it all the more painful that their numbers are dwindling.

Well on Zeta Halo there are other Spartans on the ring just scatter believe there is a book on a group but yeah I do like the reach theme with finding Spartans dead. But there other remaining 2s, 3s, and 4s on other worlds. 2s there are 13 left I believe, around 300 3s most from Gamma, and don’t now the 4s number but probably 1000 since there mostly quantity than quality in a way

Which is ironic, given that most of the Spartan II’s actually died to the most random and mundane shit (four of them died from falling several miles out of a fucking pelican before they even made it into combat, it’s kind of hilarious). Hell, some Spartan II’s ACTUALLY went missing in action. William’s Delta team literally vanish throughout First Strike. Half of them didn’t even get names because they were just THAT irrelevant. William would ironically be one of the last Spartan II’s to die, and as if out of spite for how pathetic his comrades were by comparison, he died as the first known human to take out a hunter in melee combat. What I’m trying to say is, if you’re not one of the Chosen Four (John, Fred, Kelly and Linda), Kurt, or William, your death will be as sudden and inconsequential as conceivably possible. Because most of the book writers seemed to hate the idea of other spartans being significant or…even just alive.

I like how every time Chief finds a dead Spartan, the animations are slightly different, but enough to remain unique. I was honestly expecting them to reuse the exact same animation for every time you collect an armor upgrade, like most open world games would do, but I am glad that's not the case, makes finding fallen brothers and sisters in arms more dignified and impactful

That’s what each Spartan-IV was, and that’s the sort of criteria Spartan-IV recruiters were looking for. The only known case that is an exception to this is Madsen from Fireteam Majestic. He used his influence in the UNSC to get a spot in the Spartan-IV program

You know it’s crazy how there was a chance for Makovitch and Sorel to still be alive, especially if they waited outside the facility for 13 days, but they were enacting the Rubicon Protocol, so instead of staying outside the facility, they followed the Brutes in, and both eventually met their end inside. When Makovitch and Sorel entered, they were confronted by Jega, who followed behind them. Makovitch told Sorel to go on and that she would fight Jega. Sorel later on in the facility, worn down by fighting so many enemies in his way, tried to contact Makovitch asking for assistance, he was holding out hope she survived. He then fought Hyperius and his brother (I forget the name) and that is how he eventually died. These 2 in my eyes went out in badass fashion, but they really could’ve survived had they waited for Chief 13 days later

Masterchief took down the entire Banished hierarchy on Zeta Halo within the span of a couple hours of being awake, MAYBE at most 48 hours. If he can do that much in 48, imagine how much damage the Banished would have done it not for the Spartan's sacrifice in those 13 days of waiting.

You both have to understand, Chief didn't show up till almost 6 months after the attack on Infinity. Makovitch and Sorel had been on Zeta Halo, along with Griffin, Horvath, Stone and others for all that time, trying to survive. It was during this point that no one knew what happened to Chief, Lasky or Palmer.

2:56 Seeing him die must have hit hard, among the Spartan 4's it was stated by Chief that he and blue team had worked with both Fireteam Taurus and Intrepid on multiple occasions and had noted their skill sets to be above many of their fellow Spartan IV peers (Granted they were not the best of the best among all the IV's, that distinction belongs to the Spartan IV's in the specialist category of SR-50 and above, so your Engineer, Operator, Pathfinder, Pioneer, Rogue, Stalker, Tracker, and Wetwork class Spartan IVs. Even in the real world if you see a player ranking SR-50 and above on the opposite team during a wargames match- you know they are a credible threat and should be priority targets.)

I’ve collected a ton of audio logs and finding out more about these guys. I’m sick and tired of hearing the arguments between the different type of Spartans because at the end of the day they are all soldiers willing to die for humanity and that’s admirable no matter where they came from or what augmentations they had. That’s what I’ve been trying to say for years. Like I’ve respected Spartan-IVs for a while. Like in Halo 4’s campaign, the multiplayer AI that fight alongside Chief actually act professional and how Spartan’s should act. This is reinforced in Spartan Ops with how the player as a member of Fireteam Crimson along with other Spartan Fireteams were together and again, although your Fireteam doesn’t speak, still act as Spartans. This is reinforced once again in some of the books too. It’s only really certain members of Fireteam Majestic (in the Spartan Ops cutscenes not the gameplay), and people just disliking Fireteam Osiris bc of H5’s bad story and character writing which is why people don’t line Spartan-IVs, and it’s just unfortunate. At least now, people’s eyes have been opened up

I am sure everyone knows by now that the saying "spartans never die, they are just missing in action" is just a derective created by ONI to keep moral high during the covenant war. Spartans died all the time during the course of the war and not all of them died a glorious death either. They also were not the most strongest beings either, as elites can all but match a spartan in strength, while Mgalekgolo, Jiralhanea, Sharquoi, and San Shyuum Prelates can supersede their physical capabilities even while wearing mjolnir.

If you check the store I think you can grab the armor coatings the spartans died with. There's like one of two of the mark 7 coatings that have their names with it. Specifically shadow sorrel, midnight griffin obelisk stone, and dogfight makovich

Thing is some of those coatings have names of Spartans who’s bodies were never found in the campaign which are Horavoth and Vatel so it’s likely they’re still alive.

There's something uniquely terrifying about the Master Chief, the deadliest Spartan of them all, setting out for vengeance. The Banished are fortunate that Blue Team weren't onboard the Infinity. For all Atriox's badassery, I doubt that even he could take them on.

Okay I’m going to play both sides of the argument here, but it is potentially possible Atriox could’ve taken on all of Blue Team, although very minimal. The main argument for this is the way he handled Red Team in HW2, but with that being said, when Red Team fought Atriox, they had just woken up from 28 years of Cryo, their armour was 28 years old, and it was still GEN1 Mk. IV Mjolnir. If Blue Team fought Atriox, they would’ve been still combat ready as not long earlier, they were fighting on Reach’s surface, and secondly, their in GEN3 Mjolnir armour. So there’s a very minimal chance Atriox could’ve beat all 4

@@beastmode1915 There is one additional aspect to consider. Red Team, by that point, had only six years of combat experience. Blue Team (Fred, Kelly and Linda) were all 46 years old and had over thirty years of combat experience. That's thirty years of fighting alongside each other, and forty years of having known each other. That's what is generally missed about the Halo universe, since the main games are all about one (solo) Spartan. The true strength of the Spartan II's comes when they work together, employing their extraordinary teamwork and coordination. A single S-II is a terrifying foe. A team of S-II's, however, can achieve the impossible.

All those spartan deaths are chronicled in the new Halo book, The Rubicon Protocol, if y'all want to find out what went during those initial 6 months before the chief showed up. Infact, those survivors made it almost 5 months before being killed, till the chief would showed up a month or so latee.

I know people like to dump on Spartan IV's but I like the idea of Spartan IV's, not kidnapping kids and turning them into killers, but taking volunteer soldiers and making them spartans. It's much more ethical.

Well then have I got a potential answer for you, however this is all speculative, not confirmed. Those Spartan-IIIs scattered around that area could’ve been 13 Spartan-IIIs from the Gauntlet, Red and Echo teams that were rumoured to be on Evac Operations during the glassing of New Alexandria. Now, how did they end up where they were found dead, if they were on Evac Ops? Well NOBLE Team were tasked with delivering a High Value asset, and so maybe some of the Spartan-IIIs were tasked with defending NOBLE’s approach to the Pillar of Autumn, and that’s how they eventually died on the outskirts of the ship-breaking yards, and where Noble 6 would soon join them. Now I I feel I have to point out that if those Spartan teams were 6 man teams (which 6 x 3 = 18 but then you subtract the 13 dead Spartans, which is 5), I assume the remaining 5 Spartans escaped the planet before it was glassed.

You got to remember that Spartan-IVs in Mjolnir GEN2 are on par with a Spartan-II/Spartan-III in GEN1 (also yes Spartan-IIs and Spartan-IIIs are on par with each other, ask anyone who’s well versed in the lore). So essentially Spartan-IVs in GEN2 are as powerful as Chief was during the HCW. So imagine how much more effective Spartan-IVs are in GEN3

I’m sorry to break it to you, but he is undoubtedly dead in the canon, so he will never return. However, there is something called headcanon, which is what you interpret from the canon itself, and so in my headcanon, Noble 6 is alive

They weren’t. They knew Griffin was taken to the Tower and knew they wouldn’t be able to get there. Makovitch and Sorel were investigating the digsite, and Stone was at the remains of the Reverie (which was transformed into Outpost Tremonious. She died investigating the Harbinger’s Cylix. They all could’ve survived rhetorically, but they chose to uphold Rubicon protocol, which is essentially delay or slow the enemy as much as possible, and these Spartans did so until they ended up dying by being overwhelmed

POSSIBLE SPOILERS . . . . It's actually really horrifying and depressing once you find out the Audio Logs that explains the events leading to their deaths. They were struggling to take hold of the ring. When there were no other options left and all FOBs were taken by The Banished, their only mission was to die fighting until the end. If I remember correctly, Spartan Horvath was the only surviving SIV on the ring but is M.I.A at this point. I have said the same thing before but, in HALO 4 and 5, Spartan IVs looked like they were a powerhouse. Yes, some were arrogant, but they were still effective against Prometheans and Covenant Remnants. The Banished were different, they were brutal to a point that the Spartan IVs and any UNCS personnel you hear from those audio logs really sound desperate. Spartan IIs are still the best Spartans given how the Chief was able to land some hits on Atriox. He also killed all Spartan Killers and Escharum in the Campaign. Yeah, Red Team got bodied by Atriox but I think they would have landed a hit too if they had better armor. Still, The Banished, let alone Atriox, are not to be underestimated and that makes me love them as our main enemies now than the Prometheans.
