Halo Infinite Assassination Spotted?

I saw this potential glitched Halo Infinite assassination in game and almost ascended to the energetically aligned realm. This is almost certainly just a glitchy scuffed melee kill but the fact that my teammate was crouched and this bot was doing some weird slow animation made my spidey senses tingle. I'm injecting copium directly into my veins due to the lack of halo infinite assassinations at launch. New video coming soon discussing that.

It looks like a glitched out assassination. From my pov it looks like it might be some kind of throw/reversal animation, it wouldn't make any sense if 343 added a literal "Ninja" medal without assassinations.

if you go frame by frame, the quality of the video is terrible, but you see that it's just a normal melee lunge at close range. So it's definitely not an assassination.

Honestly Basic Assassinations or place holders could be in place at the moment that the Bots aren't meant to do, Though AI tends to mess up every now and again and show it off, Fighting games Ai are known to do this as well With new combos or moves.

From the looks of it the person who was attacked was in the process if falling, possibly from a jump, and the other person was meleeing them from behind, possibly with an odd animation glitch probably the result of some hit detection weirdness. I definitely want to see assassinations come to Infinite at some point but I doubt they have anything working right now with everything they said.

As someone who pummels everyone more than he shoots them in Halo, I am pretty sure that was a beatdown: an Insta-kill melee from behind. Nowhere near as flashy as an assassination, yet just as lethal.

after slowing it down, this is what ive gathered is happening. your teammate attempted to melee blue but ended up lunging past. after that, teammate crouched, blue turned around, then blue backsmacked. the crouching and the turning around at first glance resembled an animation of sorts, but under the microscope it is sadly no more than just a couple of confused AIs

I just hope the assassination animations are dynamic like in Reach, maybe as well as combined with the predetermined variations from H5. The first were dependent on HOW you approached the back of your foe. Jumping, crouching, from angled left/right? Halo 5 had plenty more but were separate and didnt vary no matter in which angle you approached the back of your foe, also you selected ONE kind of assass animation when customizing

This happened to me, in first person view it seems like the camera for just a fraction of a second was going backwards and you couldn't move, but then as fast as it happened it stops and you have a couple frames were you can't move

Might’ve been a lag compensated melee; he died from the melee but you hit a lag bump so to compensate the game stopped him in a crouch so the bot could snap to him and melee him

When the devs were talking about why assassinations aren't at launch and what their plans with them are it sounded like they said during testing they "accidentally enabled" assassinations during a match, so I think some form of the ability is still in the game it's just hidden and I can imagine a bot or something accidentally being able to perform it through some weird coding circumstances

I want to believe it was a glitched assassination animation, but from what it looks like, the Spartan getting marked was crouching and the blue Spartan pummeled them, you can so the the blue Spartans arm are in the same position of the pistol melee animation. Sorry I dont want to be a hope killer but I'm pretty sure is was just very convenient timing and perspective. This still doesnt mean there wont be assassinations for the game at all.

The way I saw this was what they had said in the technical flight preview about assassination, and how they wanted to change hoe they worked, that you could interrupt your own assassination and have it simply count as a beat down. It would still keep the responsibility of going for an assassination and being vulnerable for a short period, while also enabling safety if necessary. You could style on someone and die because of it, or attempt to style on someone, have to interrupt yourself, but live to continue styling on fools.

So bots have the ability to perform assassinations. I'm expecting they actually have some in game, but they're either not many or they're pretty buggy so they're disabled. If ANYTHING A.I. would have access to these abilities still. It's like seeing A.I. in Halo have access to roll dodges when the players don't.

My guess is, this is an incomplete assassination, lacking the actual animation, safe for the usual smack, but still seeming to lock both combatants in place for the attack's duration. Considering that was a bot pulling that move off, the ai may have ascended beyond all known bounds, going from teabag flexing on players to straight up flexing on the devs themselves by gaining access to assassinations, long before they are meant to be a thing in the game.

As I've said to my friends before like if they add Assassinations that's cool and all but if they're not in the game I'm fine with that too. I personally miss being able to just beat the fuck outta someone in the back of the head and move on. These long ass animations that get your kills ganked or get you slapped upside the helmet are annoying af. Keep it short and simple my man.
