As an older gamer (56) I can't begin to tell you how this gave me serious nostalgia vibes from back when I would play split screen on my translucent green Halo edition xbox I received for Father's day back in the day. It was one of the first shooters I played with my boys when they were toddlers! LOL (now they've gone to work in various tech industries including animation and sound production). My 3 now grown sons and I would play for hours and had some of the best time and memories around this game. I was somewhat apprehensive prior to diving back into the Halo universe. But, after playing Infinite MP I can say it's a solid game and soooo buttery smoooth! I haven't played on my xbox, just my rig. My sons now live in different parts of the US and we are all going to hop in and share those Halo vibes. Solid game! I agree about your take on the warthog. It's a bit light. One more point: I'm diggin how they sped up the pace of character movement. Anyone who has played Halo as long as I know what I mean. Gone are the days when it felt as if your character was running underwater! LOL

I've really had a lot of fun with this game, the only thing I dislike is the quiet Spartan footsteps, leading me to getting assassinated more times than I can call fair, buggy melee/latency issues, and the fact that I can't choose what game type I wanna play. The battlepass/cosmetic shop is insufferable but I'm confident they'll fix it soon, so I can tolerate it for a few months. Overall, I know it sounds cheesy, but I really feel like a kid again playing this game lol.

Try paying attention to your radar. No reason you have enemies constantly flanking you unless you're unaware the radar exists or you're new to Halo.

Holy hell Jake you’re the first person that I’ve heard say what you said about the warthog I knew I wasn’t crazy it feels so light and airy sometimes! I’m having a blast with the game itself not looking at the cosmetics store often and not caring too much for completing challenges. It very much has potential to go down as one of the best Halo’s ever made once they start getting everything together!

Jake you’re spot on about the warthog. I was known among my friends for being the best warthog driver but now it’s like there’s 50% gravity on it- even if you turn too hard you’ll just flip and roll for 30 seconds.

I miss unlocking armor for completing difficult achievements related to the campaign and etc. I wish they’d bring back armor unlocks that’ll flex my skill not how much I paid or played the game. Like I work now with a kid I’m not 12 years old with loads of free time anymore…

Miss the days me and my buds played the campaign on legendary to get Master Chief's armor for multiplayer in Halo 4. People may have their qualms with that game but it was still pretty fun and not riddled with predatory microtransactions.

I've had a blast so far the only "complaint" is I feel that maybe the melee is a little inconsistent but not enough to sway me. I think overall they've done an incredible job.

if you are on console and try to win a melee battle with a pc player you will likely lose everytime. Turning crossplay off needs to be an option.

I've been playing Halo since 2001 and you're in for a treat as far as Halo CE - Halo Reach is concerned. H4 and H5 are divisive but still solid. Enjoy it!

I've never owned a Halo game (though I've played them), but there's something I love about the Halo games and the community. The games have that OG feel about them, similar to Quake, just point and shoot, and the players don't (seem to) ask for too much, it looks like they would be happy with the same gameplay in each new game.

Yep, I was telling my buddy before release like, this is gonna be the game I lose my life savings to (jokingly, ofc), but then I saw the prices on the store item and was just like, yikes. I bought the Yoroi armor bundle and the battle pass, but that's about all I'm willing to spend on this system because it's just horrible. You can't even mix and match the armor and coatings you buy properly either so they're just literally hurting themselves right now. If they want me to spend more of my money, they should make an entire armor bundle, with a coating, but $5, not $20 and without a coating, and I should be able to put that on all 3 armor cores. Or hell, just remove the cores entirely and let me put everything on what I want. I'd love to put Reach armor on the Yoroi and Mark VII armor. If they did that, I'd be spending a lot of money on the customization but as it stands right now, the $30 I spent was already too much EDIT: A great alternative to cores would be to just have several Spartans you can customize however you like and then you can name their armor set however you want. That would be awesome, ngl

The raw gameplay for me has taken me back to the hood Halo days as a kid. Feels very fluid and smooth with little to no hiccups. Progression on the other definitely needs work but I know 343 is aware and will make changes soon. IMO Apex’s xp system is great, award for your performance and boost the xp given by completing challenges.

Great game! Amazing audio! Using headphones really helps to know your surroundings. I’m having issues with my elite controller and my series s. With the elite controller I can’t do charging shots (ie plasma pistol) if you have your trigger on short travel. I have to change it to long travel to do the plasta pistol energy shot. And with my series X, every time I turn it off and turn it back on, using the quick resume, the game goes offline and I have to reboot it to connect back again.

I had played Halo 2 at LAN parties and stuff, but Halo 3 was the one where I really got into the multiplayer. Halo Infinite feels great from that perspective. I wouldn't even mind if they nuked all progression completely and made everyone use the same exact armor and icons. Don't care, game is fun.

Loving the gameplay so much, the weapon sandbox is incredible. Agreed on the Warthog weight, I also think the melee lunge range is a bit too big, and no enemy collision makes melee fights super confusing when you're just passing through each other.

The good: - Gameplay (and gunplay) is pretty solid. - Return to classic art style. - Natural evolution of Halo 3's sandbox-focused gameplay. Just PvP arena at its finest, no gimmicks like enhanced mobility ala Halo 5. - It is fairly well polished for today's gaming standards on new releases. - It is free to play, so no entry barriers and huge playerbase (but this has more cons than pros). The bad: - Progression. Slow and frustraring. Tied to random challenges that disrupt the flow of matches (players ignore winning in favor of completing their challenges). - No incentive for winning. It isn't rewarded on XP, unlocks, not even a stat tracker. - Poor playlist selection with randomized game modes (if you want to play only "slayer", good luck getting that mode on the "quickplay" playlist). - Series-defining modes like SWAT, infection, free for all, and more are missing (probably saved for time-gated events, unavailable when those end). - Overpriced microtransactions ($8 for color blue). - No player collision, disrupting melee interactions. - Motion tracker not working properly, with barely any range. - Cheaters already popping up, mainly PC players taking advantage of the game's free to play nature. - Forced crossplay that can't be disabled even on system-level settimgs. - Players who don't shell out cash get almost completely neglected on customization. - False advertising (touching topics like customization, unlocks, events and so on, have been explained to us in devious terms, double speak and half-truths. As a veteran Halo player, this game has potential, but bad decisions need to be corrected ASAP. Otherwise the game will die out just like Halo 5 did.

Well I mean, I think 343 isn't dumb. Yes they might be greedy, but they're not dumb enough to not have proper playlist selection. I wouldn't expect playlists in a beta anyways as they said they wanted feedback for all of the modes, also, I think they will add more permanent modes post-launch or on launch.

The multiplayer is playable on suprise launch day which is very rare for AAA title these days. That's why people can tolerate the garbage monetization and season pass rank progression. Week 3 reset rewards 1 rank up for 6 matches daily though which is good thing.

This is a studio giving us good ol Halo 3-like multiplayer absolutely free to play fundamentally. THAT WORKS!!! When the multiplayer first came out, it was running just fine for me. Now it has been crashing quite a bit for me. Also I don't think it is just me. During most of my ranked matches and some quick play matches, I see a bunch of people losing connections.

turn off high res texture from steam go to the game and then properties then DLC u can turn it off from there if u r using the Xbox app go to the game and u can find 3 dots click it then mange game u can turn it off from there if u r on Xbox idk if its even there XD

I had this problem on pc after about a week of playing the game just fine. But i was able to fix it by making steam check the integrity of the files. Idk if that will help everyone, but if youre on pc give that a shot

I haven’t played halo since 3 when I was 12 and playing this has me on for hours I don’t usually play FPS competitively but I love this game it’s even got me playing all the halo campaigns as well for a few bugs and things I’m not keen on like the store but I know it will get fixed so I’m very happy with it. ☕️

The core gameplay of this game is fantastic and there are not a lot of bugs which is quite impressive for the beta. As for the other issues like progression I'm sure 343 will fix that seeing the positive response to the beta and because of the fact that this game should be supported for a long time.

my first halo was halo 4 and when I played it I was obsessed. I played the hell out of that game and Halo Infinite kinda makes me sad that those days are gone and behind me. yes, its def fun to play around in, but I miss buying a DLC pack rather than a microtransaction, I miss grinding and grinding to get that one armor set I wanted so badly, I miss working hard to get what I wanted instead of tossing someone my wallet to get something

Big complaint here: On the armor customization, it sucks that some shaders/effects/armor variations are locked to a specific armor set.

What is crazy is they legit are doing something really scummy, they have the ability to enable cross colors from the start of the beta. Because they turned it on for some of the samurai bundles. So it's not an issue of game design it's an issue of greed. They already have all of this coded out if you notice the bots mix and matching. They are testing how much they can screw the users and squeeze every dollar out of them for customization, most of which was free in MCC, Halo Reach, and even Halo 5 to an extent(don't get me started on Warzone in Halo 5 tho). It's crazy there is no real free progression in the game.

My main problem with the Warthog is other people can't drive it. They either drive super slow then stop when we start getting shot, or flip it immediately. All you have to do is slam it into reverse then back full speed around basically every corner and you should be fine to race circles around people.

I'm loving the gameplay!!! The map's are excellent!! Some modes leave a lot to be desired. But....dear God!! 343 has got a banger on their hands!! Weapons, pick ups, movement feel great!!! Love that it's f2p even if it means cosmetics are Locked behind a pay wall. The game works great!!

I've personally had a ton of fun with this game but I find that the plasma pistol needs a buff. It is really hard to use and is made somewhat redundant by the disrupter. I think that if the overcharged plasma shot had more homing strength it would be better.

This has been my first Halo mp game. I switched over after Battlefield proved to be such a colossal disappointment, and i have to say, I'm loving it. I think the issues are with progression and microtransactions, and, frankly, if those are the issues I have with a game rather than deep-seeded, core, mechanical, and identity issues like in Battlefield that's pretty good for me. Plus it seems like they are actually listening. If microtransactions are going to stick around for games, and it looks like they will, maybe a fairish solution would be to make everything cosmetic purchasable OR unlocked through game time, like playing built up a currency that you could spend on any cosmetics at all, but if you wanted them right away or several at a time you had could buy it. Maybe that's a solution? Idk

ACG said it perfectly. The warthog is the same as the one in the past, the environment around it has been changed significantly. It worked back in the day because environments and collision were incredibly simple. Now a days it sucks because there are soooo many more details and rocks and such on the road. 343 should have had that simple realization and reworked the driving.

i love the warthog. i rarely flip because I use the brake and don't give it all gas all the time. the lightness of it makes it responsive and can let you get great air when going up a ramp which is super fun

The vehicles haul ass in this one, so I’ve had very few screw ups by tapping the gas instead of going full acceleration, and hitting the brakes if it looks like flipping will help it stabilize. I guess that does seem more realistic. I think the driving in Infinite is fun

I thought the same thing! I just slowed down some and now I’m a better warthog driver than I was in any previous games. I prefer to drive than to gun now (mostly because I don’t trust other drivers😆)

I've been playing the Halo Infinite Multiplayer for about 2 weeks on the Xbox One and the gameplay is just extremely fluid and fast paced like you'd expect. Fracture Tenrai was crazy fun because of the Slayer game mode which I loved but later on having to play CTF and Strongholds just wasn't as fun as TDM so probably when the full game launches and they allow us to pick specific game modes, the enjoyment will definitely increase.

Absolutely LOVE the gameplay. Halo got me into video games when my older brother first got the og xbox. Since 343 took over I have been MASSIVELY disappointed however, this seems to be a step in the ugly direction. Although the multiplayer progression does leave a bitter taste in my mouth. We should be able to choose servers idk about other regions but here in south africa even though we have south african servers we still get placed in foreign servers most of the time with 250+ ping at least even though we have our own servers and they're populated for now it's basically unplayable unless you play with a pc player that black listed certain servers

As a person that has never been able to play a Halo title, I am happy to play this one! This game reminds me of the first time I picked up a call of duty like bo1 or bo2. The fun in this game seems nonstop and regardless of microtransactions I'm not surprised since the game is free, but it is a little annoying that I can't rank up more than I would like to. Other than that no other complaints. Good video as well!

This game really feels like the halo sequel we've waited for and it's awesome. Not a fan of how much stuff is behind microtransactions but I keep reminding myself it's beta still and there's plenty of time for new customization options to come out. 343 seem to be listening pretty attentively to the people and I hope it stays that way. There's always going to be the people you can't please, but listening and communicating with the fans who want this game to be good I think will make this an awesome halo game. As someone who loved the classic days of the original 3, seeing my kids play this makes me smile and I hope it's not bogged down by money factors. Just good fun and rewarding gameplay was enough. I can't wait to see where this game goes.

I've been playing this since it came out and imo I think it's a solid well made pvp game. It's nice to play something that is not a buggy mess on day 1. I felt the microtransactions are not that annoying. Compared to some games where you end up being hammered with screen after screen of purchases before you get to the game this is actually quite subtle. I just hope the campaign holds up now.

Fiesta mode is what kept me playing so far. I really miss being awarded for playing well or being able to make gun customizations and weeks like in warzone. I have been too spoiled by warzone!!! I need to be able to unlock and customize things lol. If I would have known how long it took to go up a level I would have spent the extra $10 bucks for the battle pass that starts you at level 20 something.

Love the gameplay. It feels like the creator took something from every halo and recreated it and put it into halo infinite. The only thing I dislike is not being able to choose what I want to play because I only like to play slayer and free for fall. Hopefully the official launch on dec 8 adds all the features we need to play how we want but overall I’m satisfied with the gameplay.

People forget the season has 140 something days left. If you played 2 hours a day every other day, you'd for sure hit level 100 in the battle pass. I can knock out just about every weekly challenge in about 4 hours if I focus on them.
