What's going on peeps and welcome back to another Halo 3 campaign mod showcase! In this video, we will be revisiting a custom Halo 3 campaign that we played as a demo previously, but this time it includes the full mission. Here, you will play as the Arbiter to defend against a hijacking of their main cruiser. This is New Covenant Campaign - Hijacked, created by Kaboose1066!

Following the events shortly after Halo 3, the Arbiter's cruiser is attacked shortly before jumping to their home planet, defend the ship from the would be hijackers.
This mission includes the following:
Custom cinematics
Custom dialogue
New mission level re-purposing halo 2 assets
Small gameplay improvements (still feels vanilla though)
Full 4 player co-op support with teleporting
A hidden skull
Differences on Legendary

I'm usually not big on fan story mods cause they're typically surface level pleasure with trash dialogue, but this feels different. The whole closing cinematic was really well done, and 33:37 was particularly brutal

Well the the creator of the mod established that the story is a alternate timeline and what if scenario where halo 4 didn't happend but what went on in the mod's campaign so that's why he took the creative liberaty to kill Rtas

The fact that this man who made this went the extra mile and straight up made an alternate Halo 4 is nothing short of extraordinary and extremely comendable.

Yo, this is one of the best Halo mods I've seen so far. And I think this is the direction Halo 4 should have went with. Imagine if the game started as The Arbiter, then we meet Lord Hood and by the next mission we play as the Chief. The whole Requiem story could have still happened too. 33:19 - 33:43 is such a beautiful cinematography. The music, the camera angles, everything. I wasn't a fan of Halo 4's writing. Didn't like how we're fighting Elites again after everything the player went through in Halo 2 and Halo 3. Brutes, Arbiter, Rtas, Hood were absent. Disliked the art style. And the only given explanation in the game why we're fighting Elites/The Covenant again was ''A lot can happen in 4 years'', it left a sour taste in my mouth. In this version, we learn all the motives, Elites are allies and we even got a powerful scene that makes us wanna take vengeance against the new foes, all in the first mission.

To be fair, it kinda makes sense that not all Elites would approve of the peace treaty with Humanity. But yeah, Halo 4 should've been more like this

Hell yeah, Voice acting! Didn't care for the voices of Thel 'Vadam or Rtas 'Vadum but cool as hell they did voice overs anyway. The Brute voice was much better. A little confused as to why The Mausoleum of the Arbiter was wedged into the custom BSP when that's a location on the now destroyed High Charity but I suppose it's not like there are hundreds of good Covenant set pieces to pull from.

I like the detail of the energy shield effect in the cinematic, I would like to see it on the shield bridges and barriers but I understand that the mod author is probably working on that or something.

When you installed this mod, where did you put the sound and the cutscenes files? I played this mod without the cutscene or dialog

Drop the entire cutscene folder into the main halo3 directory. Sounds should be in like fmod I think. Kaboose1066 has a guide in his Nexus post (link in description).

It would be cool that you test my mod, I don't know if you tested it, if not so don't forget to set your game to French because stupid error size but don't worry on MCC option you will be able to make your game english despite the original langage is French

Well, im not big fan of how they dispatch Vadum and the Shadow of Intent in the cutscene. I would like to see him more than in just one mission. Also it seems out of character for Arby and Vadum to act in a way that would lead them to such a situation they are on. Besides that everything is great, i just hope we get more Vadum in the final campaign

It looks really good tho, but didn't like that the arbiter became helpless in the last. He is literally the arbiter, you don't fuck with him. He is the master chief of elites. If master chief can take down banished on his own, arbiter can take down some brutes too
