In the original Halo 2 this song plays towards the end the level Gravemind in the Covenant Holy City High Charity. It's the very difficult part where Cortana says "You might want to sit this one out," and the Brutes are fighting the Elites and Hunters. There's no lyrics in the game version, it's just the instrumental version of the song. I'm not sure why it wasn't included in the Anniversary edition, maybe the game studio didn't want to pay Breaking Benjamin more money.

For what I heard, 343 did contact with Incubus, Breaking Benjamin and Steve Vai to return for Halo 2 Anniversary, but Steve Vai was the only one interested in returning to Halo

It’s still there in old graphics, so it wasn’t at risk of being removed from the game or anything if they didn’t pay to renew copyright or something. They genuinely just wanted a new song for new graphics

isn't Halo 2 unironically the coolest thing ever? This song is about the Master Chief. "I'll be the one to save us all." Breaking Benjamin realized the severity of the state of Humanity in Halo, and Master Chief ended up getting 'lucky' and saving Humanity while simultaneously destroying the Covenant. This ended up aging very well. Long live Halo lol

This is the song that made Breaking Benjamin They werent popular yet, they did it for free. Also its not in anniversary because of rights. They included a remix instrumental version in Anniversary It WAS in one of the missions on the original

There was a big controversy with Breaking Benjamin in 2011 where some of the members made an unauthorized remix of this very song, without the permission of the lead singer. This led to those members being fired by him.

I was and still am a huge Breaking Benjamin fan and when I heard the instrumental version of this in Halo 2 as a kid it blew me away, still one of my favorite songs and I'm glad Breaking Benjamin is making music again.

This song coming on at the end of Halo 2 is pretty much up there with Faunts M4 Part 2 playing at the credits of Mass Effect in terms of "Unexpected but very welcome licensed music" in a game.

Halo 2 was a juggernaut that came out swinging. Absolutely unhinged. You have to react to the Halo 3 song LvUrFR3NZ. It was the winner of a fan submission to get into the official soundtrack, and it's just Halo multiplayer the song.

Are you planning on playing Halo ODST before jumping into Halo 3? I would definitely recommend that you do. Because ODST happens during Halo 2 and the first parts of Halo 3. But there are no spoilers for Halo 3 so no worries.

Yeah, the anniversary version of H2 is amazing but this song is what makes me the game, specially Gravemind on original graphics, and I'm not even a BB fan, but this song is just the correct vibe to that Covenant civil war crossfire, even without the very appropriate lyrics (in-game, it is an instrumental version)

It wasn't in Halo 2 Anniversary because at the time Ben was very sick and had just fired the other members of the band for okaying an absolutely TERRIBLE remix of this song and a greatest hits album while he was still sick. They were in a legal battle over the rights to the name Breaking Benjamin (which Ben won since he IS Breaking Benjamin). They've since returned with an even better lineup and 2 new albums
