I immediately associate this piece with the Hunters on Assault on the Control Room when you have to bum rush it to the Rocket Launcher without getting atomised! The feel of it fits the Hunter's aesthetic very well too and those warbly sounding strings could almost be the worm like colonies within the bonded pair communicating or heck even singing! I can't remember where in the lore I read it but apparently they have a thing for reciting war poetry if I'm remembering it right which adds another element of character to these massive monsters!

The most atmospheric track in Halo CE. It does a magnificent job in capturing an other Worldly vibe, along with a sense of eerieness, isolation, mystery and sadness. It reminds me of some very early Depeche Mode instrumental tracks blended with some Boards of Canada. I was so frustrated that it was never included on the soundtrack cd. While it does appear on the anniversary soundtrack, that version doesn't quite share the same magic imo.
