A television show is a different medium, built for a different audience. Most Halo KZbinrs have awful media literacy and it shows.

Yeah, that is why I try to focus on the show’s story and use the games as a comparison to give an idea of why the story they’re telling feels like it lacks a soul. For instance, I didn’t bring up Cole protocol at all, I just talked about how insane it is that ONI thought intentionally letting the most advanced/knowledgeable AI fall into the hands of an enemy far more advanced than themselves was a good idea… as well as how insanely lucky they were it worked out… it is a mess :)

I think Paramount only bought the Halo rights to have content on their platform. Low budget, scarce battle scenes, bad acting and direction. Maakee is a clone, Cortana was a LITERAL "Trojan horse", Reach needed to fall to convince The Covenant it wasn't walking into a trap, Reach also needed to fall because Oni needed an "Alamo" a battle that Oni could use to spread propaganda about the brave lives lost defending Reach and who better to serve as an allegory to Davey Crockett who died defending the Alamo than Master Chief having no time to put on his armor chose to fight endless hordes in the most noble of scarifies. I had that figured out in EPISODE 4, here is another reveal Kwan is actually speaking with The Grave Mind that's who the old woman truly is, the old woman was the leader of a Flood worshipping cult, and when she "died" The Grave Mind saw an opportunity sensing Kwan as someone The Grave Mind could influence. Halsey doesn't know her research is going to help The Flood but The Grave Mind does and it's why it steered Kwan towards helping her.

It’s slightly easier for me to “enjoy” the show because I only knew smatterings of Halo’s main storyline after only playing 3, Reach and Infinite. So I get how the show has had to take a different direction, taking tiny pieces from the story to appease the fan base (it hasn’t worked) but as a show it is still below par. I feel like I felt with the Boba Fett show, turned my brain off and watched it as a Sci-Fi story, not a Star Wars one, and enjoy it for what it is. Having read into it, they’ve botched/discarded the source material so much that it enrages me. There’s a phenomenal story to be told, and they continually let us down. I really miss Keith Davids Arbiter, man.

I thought it strange that the Spartan wash outs had nothing to give back to the UNSC. in the books they still were intelligence officers no matter how bad the augmentation process destroyed their body's. What shows need is good writers with passion. Bungie games were so amazing because of the fact that Bungie was making halo from a place of passion, not as a money maker. Me and a handful of friends are currently working on our own Halo movie. I did some calculations and it adds up to about 400 dollars per costume. The problem is the lack is consistently between each episode. It’s as if, every episode is fully written independently and directed independently with out the big picture being fully fleshed out. Thus all the issues listed here and elsewhere. It’s like no one proofread the whole series.

Seems like a very "For Modern Audiences™" move Paramount would make. (It would have mimicked the Top Gun debriefing scene, which then had Tom Cruise chasing after her afterwards + the ensuing argument)
