Honestly Halo reach didnt do a great job of showing enough of reach's fall either. Considering how massive the covenant invasion was made out to be. We saw two small glassings in New alexandria, two frigates blow up two scarabs with some longswords, and after Kat's death we saw some burning buildings... Nothing really eye opening tbh. Neither did the fall of reach movie, although it was very well done. Just doesnt show much, of covenant destruction. Just small bits and peices. So Bungie missed the mark on Reach's fall also. Honestly go replay the game. It's mostly just noble team receiving orders and losing the fight. More than showing Reach itself.

Especially given that the mass majority of other IP adaptions are straight connection of Canon OR go out of their own way to subvert it to by saying there is superior. In these products regardless of the outcome the original lore is fucked because it has those connection. This adaptation did not go out of their way to say it superior and it went out of their way to say that has no connection to the original timeline, that is very good, because its OFFICIALLY says it has no credibility by their admission, so I can easily think and enjoy the actual halo series and completely ignore this without consequence.

I hope to fuck in the next 16 days (in-story) they don't get to the wrong and the covenant set it off and it kills all of the galaxy to end this abusive story telling. So the UNSC abandoned silver team because power hungry higher ups didn't have enough control over them... After literally just getting control over them. As insane as that is, under the context of an extinction level event, what's their solution? To put one of these very Spartans they don't like for some vague reason in charge of their new army! Why Kai? Why not John? Are we supposed to believe it's because John is seen as irrational? Because we're also supposed to believe that was just a lie created by these same higher ups. It's not complicated: Ackerson absolutely hated Halsey for the death of his sister (in the show) and Master Chief is the pinnacle of her work. Additionally, Master Chief has already pissed off Adm. Parangosky with his going "off mission" and "failure to follow orders" (her desires), so naturally they weren't going to drag him off to support a program He clearly no longer approved of.

The constant gaslighting that everyone around him did the entire run, thus far, makes it easy for someone like Parangosky or Ackerson to come along and twist even the closest to Master Chief to doubt his sanity or stability. The CIA does the same thing all the time. Here's a quick check: go back to the second episode and then take a tally of everytime someone has told Master Chief that what he's seeing isn't real, he's mis-remembering or conflating multiple events in to one. I'll give you a hint: it's non-stop.

Im gonna throw this out there, Master Chief doesnt get his suit back. They destroy all the spartan armor and Halsey has to make a new suit OR they do some bullshit and refit a spartan 3 armor for him even though hes a foot taller as a spartan 2.

We just watched Kwan tank a bunch of Covenant like Jorge-052 then save Jimmy Rings just in time, Kai betray and leave Silver Team for dead to lead a Storm Trooper army and CORTANA INTENTIONALLY LEAD THE COVENANT TO HALO?!?!?!?

I honestly think they should have just made Halo into a collection of movies...not a show. Idk if they lack funding, or whatever it is but the fall of reach was not it. From the battle rifles having no recoil whatsoever, Vannak's death(not sure if he is supposed to be Fred or Sam equivalent), Riz just leaving, NO ARMOR, awkward pacing....I feel like I could go on and on. "Base on the Halo video game"....yeah....VERY LOOSLY. I hope they make this work but this show is not for us Halo nuts...it's just not.

I frecking knew it that it would be Kwan and the wife rescuing Master Chief & Co. I was hoping that it would the Autumn that would swoop in but nah, that would have been too cool. They ruined the reclaimers from the lore. They ruined New Alexandria (WTH is Reach city?! Lazy writing!) They ruined the fall of Reach. Now I guess that it will go so that Makee and the Arbiter will find Halo. Then Cortana will send the location to Master Chief and they will arrive there in their pirate ship. No Pilar of Autumn, no Keyes, they are one event at a time wiping the most iconic moments that are in the lore and what would make the series look awesome, emotionally in the right way and dramatic. Come on, imagine the start of Halo CE on the big screen! How cool that would be!!! They could´ve made it so that it is the first episode of season 3 while the escape is the cliffhanger of season 2.

This series is the equivalent of m night shyamalan screwing up avatar. The pillar of Autum was a fundamental part of halo 1, it introduces so many different storylines. They have so much source to work from and instead theyre creating a sci fi feelings show, its so disappointing.

Seeing that it was episode 5, on a meta level I knew it was going to be a filler episode. There's just something about episode 5's in series', they all end up being filler. I really hoped I was going to be wrong, and they would use that momentum from the previous episode to do a dedicated 'Fall of Reach' episode with no other side stories. The only positives were: John-117 putting Kwan in her place, she knows nothing of the Spartan culture. And Kai retiring, that was already setup, the way they did it was offensive, but it got done. I felt good knowing that she was there, she'll become a protector of the people and be a positive influence for that region. Kwan just needs to go away. I skip all of her scenes with zero mercy, I simply do not care.
