Halo Wars (1v1) Taking on the Best Players in the World

I’m pretty new to halo wars 1 and this made me realize that halo wars 1 maps are much better then halo wars 2 maps. Each HW1 map has a standout characteristics, HW2 maps just feel like giant l lifeless areas in contrast to the sprawling diversity of HW1 maps. If halo wars 3 ever happens I’d like to see a mix HW1 and HW2 gameplay beats.

if hw3 comes out i dont wanna see a trace of hw2 i tried so many times to play it and cant because of how much worse it is (in my opinion) to hw1, to me hw1=halo and hw2=generic strategy game unfortunately :(

The maps are fine in all honesty. What HW3 really needs is the AI controlled rebels/Forerunner faction inbetween you and your opponent. Made expansions much more rewarding and earned.

@@agentalex99 naaah hw2 is far better than one. It’s not even a comparison. I loved hw1, as an OG halo fan the atmosphere and music was great but it lacked in a lot of ways too that I didn’t even know about until 2 came out. 2 plays way better with more leaders and more complexity not to mention the way better mechanics like troop behaviour and smoother gameplay. Healers work better, they did lots of stuff great. They also pushed the boundaries of graphics possible in an rts. Sometimes to the point of crashes and stuff but they made it work enough. 1 will always be in my heart for it’s uniqueness and character and certain upgrades and stuff but hw2 is far more satisfying to play in my opinion. The graphics are a beautiful bonus.

Bro your channel is a gem. This type of content may not have the biggest following but its people like you that can single handedly keep a game alive, and this is a great game. Also, wouldn't using a controller put you a huge disadvantage against keyboard users? IK Halo Wars was designed for consoles but I can't imagine an xbox controller maintaining the APM of a m+k. I appreciate that! Thankfully high APM isn't really required in this game so a controller does nicely. Also when you have so many years of practice using a controller the muscle memory is imbedded. Thanks for watching!

Spirit-bonded hunters are tough enough to take down power turret spartan tanks. Typically if you're able to get that you're capable of defending against vehicles, so long as they're not using exploits. It's one of the strats that I'd use against Cutter players at least. Hunters/Jackals. Even though it's typically a good idea to at least have 1 air pad as a Cutter player so that you can deploy a hornet behind enemy lines to drop ODST spam. I don't know how I ended up getting in a couple 1v1 matches where I ended up researching ODSTs tho.

Turnip losing a few games to mr. pig in 1's was a huge self esteem boost for me. I am not alone. Just the other day I was talking to somebody about 1's, and they said "yeah but didn't you lose to turnip's friend on youtube".

We all lose games Shoe even you and me, Pig is pretty decent at 1v1s, if you give him an opening he will punish you. Other things play into it like leaders and maps but overall he does practice a bit. Hope to see you play some more 1v1 games some day. Thanks for following me for over 3 years now!

Hey turnip, great video, is great to have you back. I loved the challenge against orca KinGG. In terms Of content, i will always keep coming back to watch the experts play against each other, orca, sangre, and all those guys, i would love to keep watching you play against them as much as possible, i learn a lot from Watching you guys play each other plus i really aire the fact that you are not shy to challenge anyone. Halo wars community can be a little toxic some times. So i think guys like you can really bring this game back to life. 1v1, 2v2, 3v3 bring them all on. Also, i know sangreazteca likes to make rankings about the best players in the community, it would be great if you guys could work together too.

Yes there is an entire Steam based Discord for HW DE. It can be hard to find a lobby on steam but you can go into their looking for game chat and usually get some people quick
