Livestreams are low-effort content. Whenever I see a livestream channel, I specifically instruct YT to not recommend. And if I want to watch streams - I will do so only for games I know all I need to know about or for games I know nothing of and just want to see what they're about in general. This is how I avoid situations like the one you found yourself in - I watch low-effort content only for things that are not worth effort.

I think having had a 2k spm megabase has ruined me. Since now when trying to make a base i get crippled by the need for scalability, so spaghetti cannot happen as i am working to make my future self not hate me. Also, I am surprised they didn't add a space elevator type of thing.
@Firemage0520Сағат бұрын
Well you just have to keep in mind with all the new buildings and productivity research, a 2k spm base is now a fairly small base. Don’t even bother thinking about scalability, just make some spaghetti and allow yourself to be okay with not having any room to expand your base, and then once you have all the late game tech and quality research finished, make some scalable builds for making materials with quality, and then start making your final scalable base somewhere else

I love that the expansion now makes it possible to properly implement the central lesson of OpenTTD throughput: The best intersection is no intersection. Might update this comment later if I find more. Edit 2: Oh, wow, you really took that to heart immediately. I _like_ you. Edit 4: I want to see more use of chain signals at mergers and splits, though. I had hoped you knew to do this, but apparently not. Pre-signal all intersections, including splits and mergers, to prevent trains from blocking the intersections. Edit 1: There's a mod (Vehicle Equipment Grids by Kryzeth) that makes equipment grids in vehicles sensible. It makes exoskeletons incompatible with most vehicles and adds an equivalent for them. (Why most? The Spidertron is made of legs and uses exoskeletons in its recipe, and is therefore excluded.) Edit 3: I only started playing after the 2.0 release. I'm now starting to realize how easy I've had it. I should find someone to share my first save file with. See if they like the base design I came up with. It was my first playthrough of Factorio, but I came in with Satisfactory experience, so it's not a horrible spaghetti mess. It uses 1-3-1 trains to move materials (single-direction, don't worry), and can *consume* science at 630-ish per minute. I haven't left the whole thing running long enough to see if it can generate that, however.

11:41 "BITERS could be here" he thought, "I've never been in this biome before. There could be BITERS anywhere." The cool wind felt good against his modular armor. "I HATE BITERS" he thought. Automation reverberated his entire tank, making it pulsate even as the $9 Omega-3 circulated through his powerful thick veins and washed away his (merited) fear of behemoths after dark. "With a tank, you can go anywhere you want" he said to himself, out loud.

Nice release timing, Dosh. Happy Thanksgiving, everyone. If you're a foreigner in the States over Thanksgiving, and haven't had an American Thanksgiving Dinner, SAY SO AT THE AIRPORT. At least five families will immediately start arguing over who gets to feed you. And don't worry about imposing on us! If we can't feed our family for at least a week on the Thanksgiving leftovers alone, _we didn't make enough food._ One more mouth to feed will not be an issue if we offer you a seat at our Thanksgiving table.

I think spoilers for Factorio aren’t a huge deal, it’s not like there’s much story to speak of. And there’s a lot of different ways to do almost anything in the expansion so it’s not like Dosh shows the only way to do things (exceptions might be the space platforms which all pretty much have to work the same way, with just some different layouts)

The one thing I'm missing in Space Age is a meaningful upgrade to the standard trains. Basically every production step from mining over smelting and crafting to research and power production got new buildings and existing ones got massively buffed with quality. But trains are barely affected by quality and got no new versions. I would've loved a MagLev train unlocked on Aquilo or something similar. Quality fuel and elevated rails do exist, but none of that changes the trains themselves in a meaningful way. I don't want to be too harsh on it though, everything else is great. But as an enjoyer of trains, I can't help but be a little disappointed

Yo finally, been looking foward to this, space age has been such a blast to play with all the cool new things added. I also like to suggest, how hard is it to achieve 100 million kills(can be against biters or pentapods on gleba) mod recommandation entrenched enemies with spawn rate set to 10(rampant mod is not up to date currently) and have a second mod called Editor Extensions and use the beacons from it that have giant radius, but only fill them with the super dirty modules from that mod that increases pollution output by 250%, one way of recreating rampant experience.
