Since the show uses reality of moving through space to great effect, the thrusters should have cut out if they are planning to enter orbit of the planet. The only need for thrusters in space is for acceleration, deceleration, or change or correction of direction. Shows like Star Wars where they show the thrusters starting while their big ships are still on a planet's surface or in orbit or while holding station above a target is just wrong. Imagine what the effect of those mile long ship thrusters, remembering the force they would have to create to move those ships, would have on the people and buildings behind it while lifting off the surface.

From the beginning, Halo has been a story about Humanity constantly on the backfoot, down on its luck and just a couple steps from extinction, but still ready to throw down regardless. In a way, it also perfectly described The Pillar of Autumn. So yeah, this is Halo - themes, aesthetics and all.

I agree that it should show some damage, but I don't think it should be in the form of bright red molten metal. Some time has passed since they escaped from Reach, as it took nearly three weeks to reach the star system where the Halo was located, enough time to cool down, in my opinion.

Frankly, I hope you'll be able to see this project through to the end and give us what Paramount and Showtime failed to offer us, namely a true Halo adaptation that respects the original work while taking liberties where necessary.

Your logic is the definition of: Different name means same company, despite the fact rhat leadership is gone and without former leadership that for all you know were the main proprietor oh wait THEY WERE. A ton of current and former stated that they tried to suggest a ODST spin off game, or other games in general including marines, many, army etc. All were shut down and ignored as suggestions. Cause Bonnie wanted to make halo their own and realized at the end after 10 years of being dumb as a brick it was better to leave the sinking ship that remains afloat. Speak when this "halo studios" made a game.

You say that its all because of one person, that may be, but lets look at what this totally new and different studio is doing as its first act: a remake. That's the best they could come up with, just taking CE and slapping it in unreal 5, it doesn't get much more creatively bankrupt and lazy than that. Its still the same garbage studio, only with a new logo, rant and rave all you want, its not going to change that fact.

The atmosphere is so nice, the nice use of harsher shadows to allow the lights of the ship and glowing battle damage to take priority, the flickering of the engines really gives it 'something'. I find people over-light things and it makes important details less impactful. You really get the sense that the Pillar of Autumn is 'on its last legs' here.

Since the switch to Unreal Engine and 343 rebranding to Halo Studios, KZbin has been recommending these fan animations a bunch and I love it. I truly thought Halo was destined to primarily become a book medium, but fan projects like these make me happy to see people still care. Can’t wait to see more of your work!

Love the battle scarring on the cruiser, as well as the debris that followed it in from slip space. Instantly I want to know how where this ship is, why it's there, and how it got so messed up. Great opening shot. So sad that small creators are the only ones that get halo. Hollywood fucks it up constantly, which is impressive, because its VERY hard to make a universe such as halo boring.

That is something I like about the Halo games, particularly the earlier ones. Humanity IS NOT top dog. We're getting out bums kicked, but we're determinedly getting back up and continuing to fight to the bitter end. That this dogged determination turns the war around for us is fitting in the series.

This gets me emotional every time i watch it. It perfectly replicated the feel of halo 1 AND 3 with a halo wars 2 blur studio level quality. @@beaniebanditanimation This is actually the look of the Autumn in the novels as fighting a Supercruiser lance, pulse lasers and torpedoes the halcyon design to tank plus the forces we had in aircraft as most of the launch bays destroyed then the 96 Pelicans it could carry As Installation 00 used 2.65 times the Halcyon over 3000 meters long besides a 400 man ODST Battalion, 1000 Marines plus a crew of 2000 as ship's crew and deck crews plus Navy pilots along with any Airforce pick up on Reach plus a Battalion of 400 Army Engineers plus 200 out of 1000 when the Autumn needed to make a patch job stop seriously on Reach as with the damage with that Supercruiser Plus the size means ships with massive armor plates then just thin hulls for space as armored then thick armored still

Definitely has the same vibes as the opening to Halo 3 and the words feel inspired by what she says n Halo Legends: Origins pt 2 about when humanity "began looking to the stars". I actually got chills from this, that opening was perfection. It had a serious and dark tone, it felt believable and grounded. None of that stupid hero landing shit that the first episode of the tv series tried to peddle. I have no idea where you go from here, but please keep going! All the little touches with the sound design, camera work and lighting really sold the realism. I especially loved the drums at the end! The call back to the halo anthem + the foreshadowing of a great threat ( the flood ) was perfect.
