It's fun to note that Cortana's little speech at the end of this is a more egotistical take on her Luck speech from the beginning of Halo 3. Instead of focusing on Chief, like in 3, she's focusing on herself. I've noted some examples. 3: They let me pick. Did I ever tell you that? 6: I chose you because you were special. 3: You had something they didn't. Can you guess? 6: I knew we would be perfect together. 3: Was I wrong? 6: And I was right. Edit: The music is quite similar for both speeches too. It's like Cortana is trying to convince you it's the same old her, but something is just weirdly different, and you can see it but she can't.

I think her tone sounds more hopeful than anything - as in having faith that the Chief would pull through. Really starting to think that, with the story seeming to take a detour from the Created conflict from the previous game, Chief might end up finding that more than one "fragment" of Cortana survived the ending of Halo 4. Would certainly help explain that sudden unexplained personality shift in 5....

This trailer perfectly captures the way a Spartan puts hope into the heart of a UNSC Marine when they see one. This dude was broken and wanted to run but no, a Spartan never backs down from a fight. It resembles the way Master Chief entered Crows Nest, broken and wounded Marines see Chief and the elation they get from knowing they're going to be alright. It isnt a perfect mirror but it's very close and I love it.

@@RhysMogg If my memory serves right it was just one troop of ODSTs and that was the troop which was put against the young chief right after the augmentation to test him. Two of them were killed or heavily crippled, I dont know exactly anymore, but since then this troop hated the Spartans. The event of hurting his own comrades nagged on the Chiefs mind and believes and he was confused if he just killed a comrade or a threat. He asked his superior and was given the answer that he just did good and that his his role was to first follow orders then to keep himself alive and then to keep his comrades alive. This situation was set up by their superiors and they knew how this eventually ended beforehand but the ODSTs hated the spartans instead and saw them as freaks.

@@RhysMogg It was really only the 105th in the ODSTs that hated Chief since Halsey and Mendez set up a test thst Chief wasn't aware of. The ODSTs he fought were with the 105th. Most ODSTs actually like Chief and the Spartans, as we see with Halo 3 on the mission The Ark and in Halo Reach where we fight alongside ODSTs. The majority of normal marines, even in the books look up to Chief and the other Spartans.

One small detail I really like that 343 added into this trailer is at around the 2:55 mark, when Chief is dropped down the pelican shakes because of how heavy the Chief is. A spartan in standard Mjolnir armor weighs about half a ton, so it’s no surprise why he shook the floor. In the past games, any time he fell it made it seem like his armor was made of plastic and hardly weighed as much. Along with the design and classic one liners from the Chief, it looks like 343 did their homework for this trailer.

I remember I was 18 when Halo C.E. was released back in 2001. I would play this game with my cousins day and night around the clock non stop if I wasn't working. The age and era when the Halo series was released all the way up to Halo 3 were some of the best times of my life hands down. I really do miss those times because since then has not felt the same, it's almost like going through a dimension unknowingly and unwillingly of tremendous weight or burden of bills. The joy, laughter, and jokes all seemingly smallest things mean so much to a person it's out of this world. I hope time travel becomes a public thing in the future because I will definitely be revisiting this time of my life. It was just 3 of us but so much in common it was unreal. Unfortunately one of us has already passed on at the very young age of 30 and since then I've never been whole again, always something missing. If you have friend(s) or family member(s) that you were able to share this experience with please hold onto that because there is nothing in this world that can compare or take it away from you. Cherish it always.
