I think a lot of ppl don't even realize how DEEP this song is...listen closely. Its about the pain of having her identity stripped from her and becoming a puppet for the industry. The men want her to be quiet and sit pretty. Breeding at its finest and the industry is destroying these poor celebs. Hands around their necks and all. Thats why I love this song sm because she's speaking of a hidden pain that a lot of us can't bring up

THANK YOU so many people keep saying things like "fantasy setting" and, sure, it's cool for inspiration, but that's not the point. For me, this song is about her subjugation to the people in power around her. "They want to make me their queen" sounds empowering, but it's still her succumbing to other's whims in their personal feud for power (money in this case). The "old man" is important, because most of the people in power are these "old men", who have always been in a privileged position due to their circumstances and aren't going to let go of their power anytime soon. I could go on, and on, but the point is, that this song is far deeper than some fantasy setting adventure or girlboss moment. It's a song about a victim.

While your view of it is valid other peoples view of it is valid if thats what they get out of it.
