+Hannah Stai All of the stripped versions are more emotionally striking, to me. I think it's because without all the background noise, the added beats and extra sound - no matter how good that is in the original - we're left with just her voice and the pain in it. It makes the sadness of the lyrics much more noticeable when they're not put to a fun, catchy tune.

The lyrics "What happened to the soul that you used to be?" reminds me of what my family and I are going through right now. Recently, I found out that my own dad has been cheating on my mom. When she tries to talk about fixing their marriage or ask questions, he just gets so pissed and says he doesn't want to talk about it or just leaves. As of now, he doesn't live with us anymore. I thought he would really want to do something about it. He's always been a caring dad who would give us anything or help us with anything, I really did trust him. But he's just a selfish liar who only cares about image. I barely realized that he even favored me and my little brother over my own mom. He never gave her the same love, affection, or compassion. So now next time he visits I'll just probably say "Why even bother coming here if you're not gonna try and fix things?".
