In this video you’ll see Steve Edwards halter training a mule using the come-a-long rope, a wax-coated 2-strand rope, and the come-a-long hitch. You’ll see Steve go through lowering the head to install the come-a-long hitch, holding the head in place using ‘comfortable uncomfortable’ language and where to have the rope positioned for maximum communication.
Pulling and tugging on your mule, trying to get her to do what you want, wears on you. It tires you out and steals the joy of owning such an amazing animal. Using the method of ‘ask, tell, demand’ as you halter train, you’ll find yourself in control and you will see your mule respond accordingly. You’ll see in the video, it’s not always easy. This girl resist some of Steve’s communication and you’ll see exactly how he gets her to listen.
