Another good one. Some of it over my head simply because I haven't dealt with it but you explained it well and I'm sure it will help folks who are setting up a C-bridge, etc. Oh, and I still want that Kenwood NX-5x00 that's on that shelf back there...lol

Have you figured out a way to use that C bridge on a private network, with a mix Motorola IPSC capable repeaters AND MMDVM repeaters without any other connections to brandmeister?
@HamRadio27 ай бұрын
Yes I have been doing that for 3-4 years
@cablemedic2077 ай бұрын
@@HamRadio2do you have notes posted anywhere ? I have a few MMDVM’s and repeaters to burn and a few more sites I can add to my network without getting more xpr’s.

I'm probably the last person that figured this out, and I had to ask people before I understood. So many people's only computer is their smart phone. When people with smart phones take videos, and they watch it, or people with smart phones watch it, it fills their screen. When people that use laptops or desktops they see the craptastic black bars on the side. I HATE portrait videos!

I use DMR daily, but I don’t know what a C-Bridge does. I was hoping a “C-Bridge Introduction” would start off with “A C-Bridge is…. A C-Bridge allows DMR to…”. But I listened to our video, and I still have no idea what a C-Bridge is or what it adds to DMR.

glad you are doing shows on DMR. I just got an RD-5R in October and though I'm able to program it, there's still a lot to learn about it. One question I have, is anyone doing DMR on HF (simplex)?

I've never seen DMR on HF. It'd be cool to see, though.

On Call Watch - Where is the Source Radio Alias information coming from? I moved in April 2024. That column is still showing my old address. Radio-id and QRZ and FCC are changed. Not sure if I am missing a place to change the address of if it is a matter of cbridge not updating.

Hi Jason - wonder if you can advise - on my previous setup with a D578UV and 878UV using a Shark Openspot 3 - I had access to TG 1 Worldwide. I upgraded CPS on a new 878UVII to CPS 2.02N and to ver 1.14 on a new 578UV III and now have no connection to TG 1 Worldwide. I imported the codeplugs from the original radios. Seems somehow I must have been on CBridge at some stage to get TG 1 Worldwide ?? So how can I now access CBridge from an Anytone radio using the Shark Openspot 3 and get TG1 Worldwide back ??
@HamRadio23 жыл бұрын
You would need a custom server connection called an HBLink server in order to access TG1 WW on the cbridge from an Openspot or any hotspot. This is a setting you setup in your Openspot 3 and has nothing to do with the brand or model of radio you are using. Given the text you typed here, my suspicion is that you were never actually connected to WW TG1 on the cbridge, but if you were...then there is a setting in your Openspot that you need to change or get back to. The CPS, firmware, codeplug and radio have nothing at all to do with this.
@richardbracegirdle61043 жыл бұрын
@@HamRadio2 Thank you Jason - appreciate you taking time to reply. I'll give that some thought and examine my Shark Openspot 3 settings. I definitely had a link to TG1 Worldwide before I upgraded the CPS and radio hardware. Thinking back - there was a recent firmware upgrade to the Shark Openspot 3 and maybe it is that, that has changed something. I need to get onto the guys at Shark to ask. Thanks again Jason. Keep up the great work !!

how do i program my radio to talk on a c-bridge im use to use brandmiester but now im in texas and theres only c-bridge

Go to DMRTexas.net and find repeaters near you. All of the listings there have info about frequency TS/TG/CC for all the repeaters in Texas.

So what are my options if I want to host my own C-Bridge on my server hardware?
@HamRadio24 жыл бұрын
You just buy the software version of the cbridge and install it there. That is what I did.

I'd be very interested in a PTT timeout configuration episode. I was hoping that they operate much like a multicast group association. As in, you can key up that channel when only an interested party requests it on said repeater. Then timeout with no additional local participation. However, with these situations it would be nice to see if there is a way to indicate levels of priority for each channel. Is that possible with the software? 73s.

Ok, I've watch this video twice now and I'm thoroughly confused about some C-Bridge stuff. Is there a way I can email you to understand this more? We have a repeater near me on C-Bridge but when I watch the Call Watch it shows I'm on BM. I'm also curious if I can add this to my hotspot. Thanks in advance. Chris, KS5KY.

You can't do it natively, one of the cbridge owners has to set it up for you

Could be either - usually software running on a server somewhere, either virtual or a physical server.

You've got that backwards, but you're not wrong - some people like the connection, some not. And from our recent, local experience, I can say I am generally not in favor of it (as you know)
