Nicely done, my Brother! There is not much "old-time" Amateur Radio experimentation/information on "The Internet" anymore! I anticipate that this knowledge/these skills will soon become invaluable. Hope to QSO soon.

I bought a " My Antenna's .com 8010 efhw " for portable use. Got the 1k unit and yup, its to heavy for my spiderbeam mast. I ended up installing it permanently at the house and use it all the time. I built a real light duty 40 meter efhw and a 80 meter dipole to cover my bases. Also use the Wolf River coil.

I love those Jackkite masts, I've got three of them I'm really surprised I've never broken one yet

It might have been a manufacturing defect...it broke really cleanly

Thanks for sharing. Looks like a great portable antenna. I am out of commission until I have time and money to move my shack out of my house into my shop. I don’t even have time for portable operations.

Bummer about the mast. Great review though!

Stuff happens....I think the mast may have already been cracked and I didn't know it. I should be able to get a new section for it

Just shorten the antenna to get the dips into the center of the bands.

I did that in the video

Oh, no! Broken mast? Those shouldn't break at the bottom!

Yeah, it was really weird. It was also a very clean break which leads me to believe it might have been a manufacturing defect
