But Im planning on an 80 ft tower for my cell signal booster mounted to it as well as my 2 meter radio... Can't wait to see how you tip it up. I plan on using a pulley system to the tree uphill from it..

Hidden Valley Homestead Caught my eye you were putting up a cell booster. I had them since 2005. First one was a yagi antenna with Wilson Repeater. Those 800 Mega Herts flip phones were great. 3 years ago upgraded to a Uniden 4G all carriers triangle antenna and it was way more directional than that yagi or since 800 band with small yagi 2’ antenna got such great signal, instead of hitting the closer tower, when I got the phone bill, I was amazed that it was working crystal clear all bars from a tower 50 miles away. Good Luck there awesome

@@bretts1 Could you hit me up on messenger possibly? You've got my undivided attention at the moment!!! Scot Palmer on FB messenger... I got the Wilsons 4G booster and it works very well from zero reception to spotty 2-3 bars 4G.. I was planning on replacing the small 5dbi antenna with a larger 12 dbi Yagi and replacing the RG213 coax they send with the system with some super low loss coax.. I also just purchased 70ft of tower mast sections to double my antenna height and hopefully get out of the shadow of the mountain a bit.. Whatcha think? I'm a HAM as well and I've had a couple guys agree it should work like you're saying...

I am so bummed! You totally beat me to it! I JUST purchased tri leg mast sections this morning for MY ham radio tower and plan on hinging the base....LOL....

@@kapperoutdoors You could latch it to the roof line area with a garden gate latch and never leave the ground if you had a rope to act as a release. That would cut your problem down a fair amount.

Would love to see how yours turned out. Currently calculating for my setup in Kankakee county.

the tower is still standing after years of pretty hefty wind storms, so I'd say it was a success thus far. Best of luck.

Exciting! Can't wait to see it up in the air and (hopefully) catch you on the bands. 73!

how deep is your concrete base? im thinking about setting one up. Thanks.

I think if it’s braced against the house and you don’t have some Cushcraft A4S tri band beam on top, you should be good.

I would say it is looking good this far. Hope you can get it done with just one lift.

That tower doesn't look anywhere near that tree being an issue.>>>>> Maybe its the camera view and optics from the lens distorting it but looks way away to me. I had the same issue you did with "aiming" where the tower would come down. I didn't think about it being as much of an issue as it was when I installed it. Luckily It didn't become an issue but was close and worried me like it did you LOL :)

Well when we hoisted it (video coming out in next week or so), that antenna was really close to getting that branch! lol. But it made it :)

Following this project with interest, still can't decide how ur gonna stand that antenna up🤔 unless Megatron gets his call up papers 💪💪

oh yeah, most likely Megatron or the Kubota winch, we'll see what happens...

Wow Kapper, How the heck did you lift the tower on the Kubota? Hope you did not do it alone with your spine being bad. Loving this new learning experience. Great that you won the battle and fixed the water flood that haunted you on that hillside in what’s the good old days now 😂. Mushy, lots better than the ruts ( recall that nightmare ) 😂 I do just from watching your videos. Heck, I forgot, Joe Kapper has not only his on personal drone inspection service, but if ground was frozen his own Mini Excavator to lift that tower. How sweet is that man.👍

yeah, good call on looking back at the nightmare!!!! Will be much easier to fix up the lawn this spring compared to the last 2 years!! Thanks Brett.

Kapper just watched the trespasser video, you did a great job. I was a reserve sheriff for 20 years do you remember when you were as young as that deputy, wow he looked young. Good job kapper 1

Thanks man, if you treat people with respect, it usually helps the outcome! Doesn't mean you aren't mentally prepared. Yeah, heck I was in the clinic the other day, and there was an intern, that I swear was like 13!!!!! Or is it just me? lmao.

The taller that gets the more I'm sure you'll need more support (defiantly the house anchor maybe a second from the roof peak, chimney or just cables?). I don't want to see after all of your hard work (back pain) a video showing the tower bent over like a horse shoe. :-(
@kapperoutdoors5 жыл бұрын
I'm thinking it will be fine with the lower steel supports that I added on, but once I get the antennas on I'll see how much it wobbles and make a determination at that point. thanks!
@TairnKA5 жыл бұрын
I've not studied physics but I'm concerned if it's likely to fail it will be just above those supports where I believe the "moment" exists. Good luck. ;-)

That's messed up you disabled comments on the guy that needed help, not the cops. You knew the hate would come. People that turn off comments are weak.

People that want to try to inject their ideas on everyone else's in life are weak..... I suggest you watch part 3 (posing today) and pay attention at the ending to see what this fine gent did......
