As someone new to ham I was curious why you built a 2m/70cm go box? I understand an HF box for pota/sota and such, but most of my remote 2m/70cm activity is on 10watt HT.
@customtech38319 күн бұрын
VHF & UHF allows you to communicate within a local community (Off road, family, networks, etc) of people much better than HF. These radios can cover an entire city and repeaters allow you to extend reach even more. Also much of UHF you can use without a ham license, FRS, GMRS, Land radio, etc. which gives you lots of options. I would ask these questions on youtube, lots of info there

Did you have to modify the PSU to run your radio? If so, what did you have to do to make it work with your radio unit? Thank you.

The power supply is a Pyramid PS8KX - 100W 115V AC to 13.8V DC 6A. I have switches that engage and disengage both AC & DC input. No mods necessary.

No, this is duel band UHF & VHF (2 meter/70cm). This can communicate directly, radio to radio (Simplex) or using repeaters where available.
