The measurements for this antenna I got from this website w4.vp9kf.com/moxon_design.htm. You have to take in consideration that the measurements were done with bare wire, if you will use wire with insulation like me that will be slightly off.

Hello, Almir. Excellent job especially since it's only a few feet off the ground. I'm about to start a Moxon project for 20 meters and I came across your video. Presently, I have a mini-yogi but with the longer elements of the Moxon I expect to get better gain. What did you use for the spreader poles? Hope to hear you on the air - 73 Brad N1JV

Hello Brad, thank you so much! For the spreader I use 4 fishing poles 21' long and used only the bottom 7 session. For the center pole on the field I used the MFJ 1910 fiberglass pole and only the 5 bottom sessions because the rest is to flexible. That gave me about 15' high which is not too bad. The trick about this antenna I found is to get the correct length for the wires. Over all is very simple and I'm sure you can build one, if you have any question let me know. 73's my friend de VE3DAL.

Hello my friend! the Moxon is the best directional antenna for starters, with the Moxon I started in the world of the DX around 15 years ago, I hope hear you in the air. 73 de KS5Y

@@VE3DAL Quick question, what kind of fiberglass poles did you use? 73
@VE3DAL
@VE3DAL Жыл бұрын
@@clubaztecadxers I used the MFJ1979, at about 15 feet maximum if I would go any longer it gets too flexible for my setup. The Spiderbeam is better but more expensive, maybe in the near future I will get one. Best 73's.

@@clubaztecadxers For the moxon antenna I used fishing carbon fiber poles as spreaders.

Nice project! The only portable (and easy to use) way I can think of to get it higher is the metal Spiderbeam telescopic pole (not that cheap, though). The fibreglass one wouldn't support the flex you'd induce from the long arms, and you would prob want to guy it, but I bet it would work really well, since you're already hitting E Europe from a low height installation in your backyard! The Moxons are cool, basically a 2 el Yagi with folded ends. I like the F/B ratio on them. (when you're not making videos, I find using even cheap $30 Sony headphones really helps me out a lot, compared to the stock speakers).

Thank you! Next is to put this antenna at the prober height with a good mast pole. I love this antenna. I like to record the sound from the radio speaker. 73's

Nice work Almir that antenna out in the field , higher and in the clear is going to work wonders for you. That test wasn't really fair to the antenna low and surrounded by houses , still you were able to make contacts amazing. 73's watching in NYC really enjoy your videos.
