Good man Dave, hairy conditions there, fair play for getting the activation done. I passed my test, I am now EI3JNB 🙂A friend recommended the uBITx to me to get started with and I am going to pair it with a Slidewinder DX to try activate some POTA and WWFF sites. It is hard to get LiFePo batteries at the moment so might run it from the car, will see how it goes. The X6100 looks like a nice bit of kit for the job, will keep an eye out for that in future. Keep making the great content, you will have 1000 subs in no time and 73's!

Excellent Conor!!! Congratulations 👌🏻💪🏻😃!! Yeah the lifepos are difficult but we are experimenting in the club with battery banks designed for usb-c devices that also can run 12v with a special usb-c to 12v lead… About 1500mah, but perfect for low power rigs at 5-10watts.

Thanks Victor, Yep I’ve bought one since borrowing this one and have a few videos on using it… I find I have to constantly adjust the rf gain up and down for weak/strong stations but other than that it’s great bang for buck 😊

Another windy one Dave. The guys were horizontal when you were erecting the mast! Is that one of those tape measure antennas on your hand held? I see it folded 😂

Yep one of those tactical abree antennas.. To be honest I reckon a quarter wave with a counterpoise tail is the best of all.

@@IrishHamRadio it was working as an inverted L in that video.🤣 I wouldn't have used my rh 770 whip in that wind for fear of it snapping the SMA off the radio. A slim G up a short mast is the answer. Then you can take shelter but still put out a decent signal. Well done for getting it done in these conditions!
