Getting on the air once in a while will (hopefully) protect my radio, antenna, mind, and soul from total decay. 73 de W1GV. sciencewriter-dot-net

Stan was a great mentor and a fine gentlemen. I consider him…though now silent…one of the greatest teachers of ham antenna concepts...who once lived. Thank God for KZbin and the written word…through which he still does. RIP our friend.

Rock on Stan. We need as many young people to learn. Every thing that was useful in Cold War emergency will always be good to know. KF7RTU

Can you pull in a few favors with a local club to get some muscles out to help you for an afternoon to erect fully your antenna , and perhaps string up a wire antenna that will work on lower frequencies ? Its amazing what can be done for the cost of a carton of beer.

Wish I could help Stan but it's a bit out of the way from New Zealand. Cheers and stay safe.

I think 30 meters is a band where contesting is not allowed, Stan. I'm glad you're Covid-19 symptom free!

Stan, I know you have a neighbor or two that would help you hoist that thing, if the covids weren't running rampant.

If you are having gut problems (probably some of the medicine you take) I refer you to Dr. Erik Berg (on youtube) who is a nutritionist at a major university. I had a wrecked gut due to a diabetes medicine I took. Even after stopping that medicine I had bad issues. I started with a low carb diet (that helps) but started eating blackberries, blueberries, strawberries and raspberries. Almost overnight my gut problems disappeared. The berries have a vital nutrient in them that your good gut flora like. The rest of the diet removed the high blood sugar and the slow healing that I had is subsiding. I honestly believe that we don't need a lot of carbohydrates. Just a few each day. Antibiotics are gut killers. Your italian grandmother would tell you not to eat to much pasta! At our age a good probiotic might help.
