Where in Genesis is Ham's sin mentioned??? Noah knew what his younger son had done. Genesis 9:24-25. Ham is not the youngest but second oldest to Shem.

In my heart I think about how Noah must have felt after he and his family survived the flood, yet he was unable to convince others of what God was about to visit upon the unrepentant. They laughed at and disrespected him. He was human, he must have agonized over the faces of his neighbors and their families. I know the sadness I feel for those who won’t even give my awesome Father God Creator and King Yeshua a chance to prove His love for them. But I trust His perfect wisdom, judgement, love and mercy.

What Ham did was far worse than what this man says! Leviticus 18:6, 17, &19...... That is what your father's nakedness means..... As well as Deuteronomy 22:30. This tells me that Canaan was born of Noah's wife, therefore he could put the curse on him rather than a blessing.

Nope. To uncover a mans nakedness is a Semitic euphemism for “sleeping with his wife”. Ham slept with his Mother producing his son Canaan. Thus the curse.

Wow! Comments suggest a lot of 'reading into' what WASN'T said versus instead of what WAS SAID in the chapter. 1) Gen. 9:21 - "...HE was UNCOVERED within his tent. H150: uncover, reveal, appear, reveal, display 2) Gen. 9:22 "And Ham...saw the nakedness (H6172) of his father" H6172: nudity 3) You are NOT supposed to see the nakedness (nudity) of your father or mother, nor "any that is near of kin" (blood relation) (Leviticus 18:4-17). It includes a host of relatives. Other than in infancy (when changing diapers/bathing babies), you are NOT to see the nakedness of ANYONE whom you ARE NOT MARRIED TO! If a person is NOT your doctor OR spouse, he/she should not behold your nudity!

The wisest religious advice I've ever been given is to be careful in reading and interpreting the Bible not to add or omit anything that changes the context. This is God's enduring word and it's dangerous for man to embellish or disregard a single word. That being said, I'm reluctant to add that Ham "ran and told his brothers" vs he simply informed them of the situation. I'm not willing to judge Ham by saying he had ill-intent. Yet the rational side of me realizes Noah was a righteous man and wouldn't curse Ham if there was not more than is included in the Bible. I have accepted that by the time the story came to Moses all he saw fit to include in the scriptures was the bullet points of what happened, not the details.

My understanding of Lashon Hara also covers twisting someone's words or intentionally or recklessly reporting word, deed, or observed behavior even when a misunderstanding could defame their character or impute malice or even danger. Apparently, most of the readers (hearers) of the epistle of James knew of this and thus understood the full implications what he was saying throughout the epistle, not just limited to 4:11. They are directly related. I did this in my frustration recently and this helped convict me, much needed. Thank you.

Just a thought- 1-Because the `windows of heaven` were opened for the flood, the protective water canopy of the earth was removed and the magnetic pressure was greatly reduced, thus affecting the effects of drinking wine (it also affects our healing abilities from cuts and bruises) 2-Ham tried to usurp Noah`s authority by having sex with his mother. Caanan may have been the result of this un-natural union. (Leviticus 20:11 `If a man lies with his father’s wife, he has uncovered his father’s nakedness;) Just a (theological) thought.

IMO, 2-Ham is pure speculation, without any evidence of what actually happened during this particular event. Gen 9:22 KJV - 22 And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father, and told his two brethren without. The first question to be answered: When was Canaan born? If he was already living, your speculation is immediately proven to be incorrect. Further without event specific evidence "saw the nakedness" and "uncovered his father's nakedness" would be two separate acts. For example, many people saw the nakedness of David. They certainly did not uncover their father's nakedness. Thus, it wouldn't matter when Canaan was born (with possibly the exception of a few weeks time period), if there is no evidence that Ham's mother was in the tent. That is what is being implied with this accusation. BTW, is spreading unconfirmed gossip about the activities of others considered to be gossip? What does the Bible say about gossip?

It's disappointing you didn't connect it with "Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you." He *shamed* his father, and we see the curse, not the promised blessing of the verse above. I have to remind myself of this, when I want to mock my father to my sister, for his failings or hurtful actions toward me. It feels like we're bonding, laughing over sharing the same flawed father, which is probably how Ham behaved. It's a wonder God has not struck me dead for how often we have done this. I can be so wicked. Praise God for his atoning work on my behalf through Jesus. Even for me.

Aren’t we all wicked? According to our Heavenly Father YHVH we are, Romans 3. I can’t count how often what the apostle Paul said goes through my mind, that in my flesh dwells no good thing, and his lamentation about how he doesn’t do the things that, in his heart, he wants to do, according to his flesh, but instead he does the things he does NOT want to do, according to the Spirit, because the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak. It’s a constant battle for the born again believers in Christ between the flesh, the old man, and our regenerated, and reconciled to YHVH, spirit, the new man. Praise our Heavenly Father for sending our LORD Jesus Christ to be our Kinsman Redeemer, so that we’re justified by what Jesus did for us on the cross, when He paid for all our transgressions, becoming sîn for us, so that through the new birth and baptism into Christ by faith, we are now the righteousness of YHVH in Christ, and there is therefore NO CONDEMNATION for those who are in Christ, Romans 8 vs 1. Without Jesus, Heaven would be devoid of any humans. I used to think I was a good person before the Holy Spirit showed me, convicted me, of my sîns, according to how God sees me, and led me to faith in Jesus Christ. I now understand completely just how wretched my condition is when held in the light of our Holy and perfect in righteousness Creator and Savior, YHVH incarnate in Christ, which makes me all the more thankful for God’s mercy and grace, and for the precious atoning ßIood of Christ that has washed away all my unrighteousness, and clothed me with God’s imputed righteousness by faith, Romans 4. The only thing I have to boast about is how great our God is! Blessings to you.❤😊

Why do you have to add these extra infos sir? 3 sons entered and 4 came out? You made a good connection with the wickedness of Canaan descendants, the nephilim infestation, their trying to intermingle with the angels in the valley of Sidim destruction, their general inquities, which Yah told Abraham in Genesis, "have not yet reach it fullest" meaning it will increase and judgement will come 400 years later through the descendants of Abraham, the Isrealites, who where tasked with this judgement but did partially. This judgment of exterminating the cananites, date from the beginning of men spreading over the earth after the Babel tower overthrow. Each of Noah grand sons received territories in their father's respective lots. They mutually agree not to encroach into someone else's land under imprecation of curses, among which bieng rooted out of the land aka exterminated and being infested with giants. I have figured for a long time that Ham called through the tent door and got no answer, and went in anyway, instead of waiting for his very old father to wake up, or going to get help. These people had been together for centuries. Built the ark together , went through the flood time on the ark together. Somehow, whatever he did was inexcusable. He should have gone to tell his brothers he could not get an answer after calling at his parents' tent. He knew both of his very old parents were in that tent.

Like the way you think…now let’s take it a step further by asking the biggest elephant in the room question… Who told Noah what happened while he lay drunk? The insidious part of the entire story is this: one of the brothers that was (acting) pious and holy by covering their father, actually found an opportunity to uncover the sinful act of their brother by telling dad. The two brothers should have covered their father’s nakedness and rebuked their brother but also covered his sin. An entire people group could have been spared being cursed if one or both of the brothers could have simply kept quiet. Would love to hear any other thoughts or insights you have on this subject! Peace to you and your family in Christ!!

The point I'm getting at with the passage of time is, the Bible doesn't tell us how long it was, nor how many grandchildren had been born by then, just this stark event.

The story of Noah and his sons is a prime example of how crucial it is to follow the fifth commandment which states that we must honor our parents. Ham did not show any reverence towards his father when he saw him naked and even gossiped about it to others. This dishonor broke the commandment and led to a curse on his son, Canaan. On the other hand, Shem and Japheth took the high road by honoring their father, covering him up, and not peeking at his nakedness. Because of their actions, they received blessings from Noah.

This to me is the most heartbreaking of all things that happened to mankind in scripture. Here God was trying to set man free from the Giants (Son's of God= fallen Angels/ Nephilim) that were on the earth at that time and were leading men into a place of violence. God wasn't having anymore of it. So he commissioned Noah to save mankind along with the animals. What was the dynamic of the Father(Noah) with the 3 sons? What was the dynamic between Ham and his father in the prior 100 year relationship. (Prior to the flood) There had to be some soreness between father and son. Especially to do the grievous act. Was ham not as interested in the Boat building project as His Dad was? One thing that is clear is this. Ham was never cursed. However, and this is KEY: He was never Blessed either,(By the King Of the Earth; The head of all living things at that time) as Shem and Japheth were that faithful day in history. Which I believe as result of no Blessing caused Ham and his descendants to be the Tail and not the Head in real life situations to this day. Think of it 2/3rds of the mankind Blessed and 1/3 into a place of submission to the other 2/3 This I believe is one of the rectifying factors that the Father is doing now in the Earth. Lets watch and see how he redeems even this grievous time in History to His Glory.

In Scripture it talks about who men can and can't have intercourse with. One of those scriptures says that a man can not uncover his mother because it is his father's nakedness. I believe Ham went in while his father was drunk and passed out and had sexual relations with his mother and when Noah woke up he knew what ham had done. I believe Caanan was the product of the sexual relationship Ham had with his mother and that is why Noah cursed Caanan.

Did Ham take the garments that Adam wore made by God in the garden. Is that why Ham discovered his fathers nakedness? he took the blessed clothing of Adam given to Noah before the flood when he caught his dad passed out. Then the garments were gave to Nimrod, who wore those clothes and became a great king. Why else would he want to take his dads garments? He wanted the blessing, but got cursed instead.

I noticed that on another post he had of the similar topic, turn the comments off, probably for good reason, because he was about to get lit up. He had mentioned that the Bible doesn't sanitize the character of the subjects. Yet he sanitized the nature of what happened with Ham. And some theology study and Hebrew study this has been a back and forth thing, but what it's turning out to be is people don't want to admit what happened that actually happened that the Bible doesn't disguise it's just we disguise it. In Leviticus and deuteronomy, there is language we need to pay attention to; "uncovering the nakedness of..." Is just not walking up and happened notice someone whose butt naked... That is not what it's referring to. Ham, raped his mother, that term "uncovering the nakedness of" is in line with defining the activity of having incestuous sex... it was forbidden, and it was lined out in along with the penalties for violation in Leviticus and Deuteronomy. Now, how we test this is when we tip over to the book of 1st Samuel, and we look at David, who was supposed to be out with the rest of his army, decided to stay home and wayfair, he noticed Bathsheba, the Bible did not say he "uncovered the nakedness of Uriah" it said he saw her bathing.. It was after that that he did the deed, to which apparently she only partially objected to. This is how you put together Canaan being cursed, because there's an abstract reference of "Ham being the father of Canaan..." before the incident in the tent occurred.. why? It's giving you a huge, huge hint, to go up and make stuff up after this playing down the severity of what it is, the Bible is not here to put explicit, sordid things out there, just give you enough that something foul happened... This is when holier than thou Bible translators got it wrong... Intentionally You don't get a grandchild mentioned, unless the ability or circumstance highlighting how that came about was laid out first. Ham went and did the deed, and then went and bragged about it... Shem and Japheth then immediately took action went in and covered their parents up. He also had made mention that some suggested some sort of homosexual curiosity being played out, if that were the case truly, the other two sons probably would have killed him outside the tent... making Ham's story even shorter. So clearly that's a bad prognostication... Then we are left with the hints of what the Bible lays out, and we have to put those together to see what occurred that these hints unpack... And with these hints clearly and in no uncertain terms make available to us the knowledge that something incredibly foul, and highly offensive to God took place. Noah cursed Canaan, Canaan ultimately created Nimrod (not a person) the Lord raised up Abraham to ultimately wipe out the history of Canaan... And that's eminently and ultimately is what happened, the Canaanites were utterly wiped out. I don't think anybody should be publishing anything publicly about the Bible until they get some solid knowledge under their belt, my problem with you guy is that you're in a church in your teaching and there's clearly not enough research done on your behalf, and the bible study tools are there to reach that level of understanding, you just have to want to do it. Please, want to do it

“Uncovering” one’s “nakedness” also means having sexual relations with someone else’s spouse, daughter, other close relative. Look up the actual words used in Leviticus when God instructs Moses on various sexual sins. Consider that Ham “saw Noah’s nakedness” could be that Ham raped his own mother while Noah was asleep/drunk. He got her pregnant. Noah discovered this grave sin and cursed Canaan, the offspring of Ham and his own mother. Do a deep dive of the words “see his father’s nakedness” in Leviticus and other books to research the thread yourself.

Allow me for one moment to play the devel's advocate and say that Noah did not know the grape juice he drank was going to alter his state of mind into drunkness. With the flood came clomate change for sure! Everything was affected including grapes perhaps (and I have no proof of this) the production of yeast increased and caused the "juice" to undergo frementation quite unexpectedly causing his drunkness!

Not puzzling......man is not supposed to humiliate others. Noah's "sin" was "secret" as he was in his tent, a metaphor for our soul in a body. His son humiliated his father before his brothers to cast doubt on the true "holiness" of Noah. Ham caused a stumbling block of faith.

The beginning of sin, the mystery of iniquity began in the garden of Eden, Genesis 4:8-15-24, and was judged in Jesus, in the garden of Gethsemane. (Actually it began with Lucifer, but since he would never receive forgiveness, God began to impute His righteosness as soon as man sinned, and made a way out for him by the blood of the sinless Lamb slain before the foundation of the world, but that lives, sitted on the throne of God in the heavenly places. Ezekiel 28:16, and promptly judged verses 17-19, John 16:11, while man got a 1000 years deferred punishment, which was paid for by the sinless blood of Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God, and the complete man, on the cross of Calvary. ) This sin couldn't readily be judged simply because there was no preceding law about being one's brother's keeper that was broken. (Thus, the whole system was destroyed by the flood, and the laws started with that Genesis 9:5-6, until finally judged and finished on the cross John 19:30) In verse 15, a precedent was laid down for the time it would take to judge sin, 70x7 or 490 years. That generation was wiped out by the flood, but the precept remained: sin shall be avenged seventy and seven fold. (Matthew 18:21-23). This was the standard by which Israel also judged, as they also had to spend 70 sabbath years ( or 70x7= 490 years), in exile, outside of the promised land. When it was the 69th week year Daniel prayed to God, and fasted to remind Him of the imminent due date of the return of God's people to their promised land; but the sin of the Amorite was not yet full, Genesis 15:16, also, Israel was still in rebellion towards God, and the land cannot sustain rebellion- it was Holy! So, the Messiah had to come and make a way for grace and justification, and righteousness of God to be imputed, so Israel can get back their monarchy, through the house of David, and back to the kingdom of God, by grace through faith in Christ Jesus, as the Son of God, and the Son of man -the promised Son of David, the king of Israel to order His Kingdom Isaiah 9:6; who would ascend His throne as God had promised him. Romans 1:3; Acts 2:30, and come to bring them back to God, Jeremiah 16:16a; Luke 19:10; Matthew 10:5. Instead, they rejected and killed Him. Thus, from then onwards, the way to God was opened to whosoever would come to Him by grace through the shedding of His blood, by grace through faith in His sacrificial death, burial and resurrection. They were given the adoption of sons and daughters into the kingdom, which hitherto, they were not permitted Ephesians 2:13; John 1:11-14, becoming heirs and joint heirs of God and the Abrahamic covenanted promises an blessing (Genesis 25:6- the representatives of his other children by Hagar and Keturah, the Kings of the East, could now access and partake of the blessing, and they showed their allegiance and faith, by worshipping Jesus Christ, as a Child!) Jesus Christ gave His life for all who would simply believe in Him as Lord and Savior, in order to keep them from the wrath of God that will be unleashed upon the Amorite, until the end. Isaiah 63:18; Daniel 8:13; Zechariah 12:3; Luke 21:24; Revelation 11:2. And eventually, they will be rescued at the second coming of Christ Luke 21:13; Zechariah 14. He finished the work of salvation of the soul of man John 19:30 and this continues the "acceptable year of the Lord" which began as He took the sealed book of Daniel, 12:4, from God, as the Lamb of God, who alone is Worthy, and opened the seals Revelation 5, and fulfilled the first of the three part of Isaiah 61:2, in Luke 4:16-21, and He SHUT it again. This will run through this dispensation of preaching of the gospel of grace, (which ended the preaching of the gospel of the kingdom, which ended with the stoning of Stephen) by faith in the sacrificial death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ, and He will return to gather His saints from the world, 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; 1 Corinthians 15; and present them faultless before the presence of God the Father, with exceeding joy, Jude 24; with victory over sin, devil, death, hell and eternal damnation in the lake of fire and brimstone Isaiah 66:24. The second dispensation is nearly upon us, at this time Isaiah 63:4, which will usher in the tribulation period when the 70th and last year will be ushered in to finish all transgressions! Daniel 9:24. ( As the Messiah has become the sacrifice for sin, and was dead, buried and rose again from the dead! His shed blood sprinkled on the heavenly mercy seat for propitiation for sins for all who would go to God by and through Him, simply by faith! Ephesians 2:8). Then, the Lord will return the second time, complete with His body, as a new Creature resting upon the Mount of Olives Zechariah 14, to make a way of escape for the remnants of Israel Matthew 24:31. Then the battle of armageddon will ensue, and it will end up in total obliteration of this earth. Isaiah 24; Joel chapters 2 and 3, Jeremiah chapters 1-11...; 1 Peter 3 etc. This is the fullness and end, and judgment of the sin of the Amorite! Matthew 18:21-22; Psalm 75:8; 73:3-17. Then the new heaven and earth will be created after the conclusion of the millennium- to mark the expiration date of sin and death, like it was back in Eden. Now man will live out the 1000 year curse of death Isaiah 65, (Genesis 5). Then history will repeat itself when everything reaches full circle- the serpent will be released once again, Revelation 20:1-6, to tempt man as he did with Adam and Eve, those who follow him will get totally judged and cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, together with hell, death, the antichrist, false prophets and all whose portion is with them Isaiah 66:24. Revelation chapters 19-22. God has perfected the end from the beginning. But as it is written-"My people are destroyed for lack of Knowledge " Hosea 4:6, so, "With all thine getting, get understanding " Proverbs 4:7; Luke 24:45. Be filled with and led by the Holy Spirit, and abide in the fold, John 10, until He returns as promised, to take up His purchased possession! John 14:26; Ephesians chapters 1-2! Then He will set up His kingdom! Isaiah 9:6! Be encouraged!

Ham's sin?? it sounds more like an addition to what scriptures say. The book of Jubilees goes into more details and reaffirms what Genesis already said and helps expose leaven for what it is. Jubilees chapter 7, RH Charles translation .....7.7. And it was evening, and he went into his tent, and being drunken he lay down and slept, and was uncovered in his tent as he slept. 1 8. And Ham saw Noah his father naked, and went forth and told his two brethren without. 9. And Shem took his garment and arose, he and Japheth, and they placed the garment on their shoulders and went backward and covered the shame of their father, and their faces were backward. 2 10. And Noah awoke from his sleep and knew all that his younger son had done unto him, and *he cursed his son and said*: "Cursed be Canaan; an enslaved servant shall he be unto his brethren." 3 11. And he blessed Shem, and said: "Blessed be the Lord God of Shem, and Canaan shall be his servant. 12. God shall enlarge Japheth, and God shall dwell in the dwelling of Shem, and Canaan shall be his servant." 4 13. And Ham knew that his father had cursed his younger son, and he was displeased that he had cursed his son, and he parted from his father, he and his sons with him, Cush and Mizraim and Put and Canaan Noah cursed Ham's son. Nothing more happened than what Genesis already said. And Ham was displeased that his younger son, already born, was cursed. Verse 12 also will rectify the often misinterpreted "God will enlarge Japhet and he shall dwell in the tents of Shem" of Genesis, where most think it's about Japhet residing in Shem's, but here it is rightly said Yahuah God has his dwellings in Shem's territory aka His holy places on earth. Chapter 9: And Ham divided amongst his sons, and the first portion came forth for Cush 11 towards the east, and to the west of him for Mizraim, 12 and to the west of him for Put, 1 and to the west of him [and to the west thereof] on the sea 2 for Canaan. 3 2. And Shem also divided amongst his sons, and the first portion came forth for Elam and his sons, to the east of the river Tigris till it approacheth the east, the whole land of India, and on the Red Sea on its coast, and the waters of Dêdân, and all the mountains of Mebrî and ’Êlâ, and all the land of Sûsân and all that is on the side of Pharnâk 4 to the Red Sea and the river Tînâ. The 3 sons received all their protion of the whole earth (this is the right understanding) and each of them divided among their children. Hams's part is essentially the southern (the continents of south america, africa and the south east asian territory), Shem the central(the arabic peninsula up to the Tina river and reaching the far east) and Japhet the northern part just to make it simple, but a further read of the book will give you exact geographical references that only make sense on the scale of the whole earth. Chapter 10. 28. And Ham and his sons went into the land which he was to occupy, which he acquired as his portion in the land of the south. 1 29. And Canaan saw the land of Lebanon to the river of Egypt that it was very good, and he went not into the land of his inheritance to the west (that is to) the sea, 2 and he dwelt in the land of Lebanon, eastward and westward from the border of Jordan and from the border of the sea. 3 30. And Ham, his father, and Cush and Mizraim, his brothers, said unto him: "Thou hast settled in a land which. is not thine, and which did not fall to us by lot: do not do so; for if thou dost do so, thou and thy sons will fall in the land and (be) accursed through sedition; for by sedition ye have settled, and by sedition will thy children fall, and thou shalt be rooted out for ever. 31. Dwell not in the dwelling of Shem; for to Shem and to his sons did it come by their lot. 32. Cursed art thou, and cursed shalt thou be beyond all the sons of Noah, by the curse 4 by which we bound ourselves by an oath in the presence of the holy judge, 5 and in the presence of Noah our father." 33. But he did not hearken unto them, and dwelt in the land of Lebanon from Hamath 6 to the entering of Egypt, 7 he and his sons until this day. 34. And for this reason that land is named Canaan This happens after the Babel tower overthrow and the confusion of langugages, and there we have the first documented case of land theft, by none other than Canaan! And his father and sibling CURSING HIM! Come to think of it, the curse of Noah was PROPHECY. Said curse came as a direct consequence of this act of theft. Let's read Chapter 6 where Moses gives ample details: 14. And thus the sons of Noah divided unto their sons in the presence of Noah their father, and he bound them all by an oath, imprecating a curse on every one that sought to seize the portion which had not fallen (to him) by his lot. 15. And they all said, "So be it; so be it," for themselves and their sons for ever throughout their generations till the day of judgment, on which the Lord God shall judge them with a sword and with fire, for all the unclean wickedness of their errors, wherewith they have filled the earth with transgression and uncleanness and fornication and sin. This story is to be trusted, two books, Genesis and Jubilees are two witness to it, one is more general, the other goes into ample details, not unlike the account of the creation of mankind. Same concept, very coherent. The question of who and why some folk decided to remove the status of scriptures (canon as they like to say) to this book in particular, and many others in general is up to each one to answer. Videos like these, sermons and theology built upon the ignorance of this book is standard. It's up to each one who comes accross it to test it for himself and keep that which is good. As for me, i'll take Jubilees every day over this nice sir, who may be knowingly or not spreading fables to his audience: It's called prophecy fulfillment. Yah bless PS: The true Israelites, real Shemites were tasked with the extermination of the descendants of the cananites as part of the execution of the judgement of the oath and as restoration to TRUE SHEMITES. Giants were in these land, remember? That's among the consequences of violating the oath according to Jubilees. The OG of Bashan, Goliath and so on were products of nephilim infestation. The sin of the valley of Sidim , a cananite territory, was to be keen on bringing about the days of Noah, trying to intermingle with angels. We saw what happened, and as per the scriptures, it's happening again. The so called modern israel "re colonisation" of Canaan is no divine order. That's for sure according to what we read. I wonder why this book of Jubilees was suppressed..........

Ham’s sîn, and the reason the curse is placed upon Canaan, NOT HAM, but Ham’s son who hadn’t been born yet, is explained in Leviticus 20 vs 11. Ham “uncovering his father’s nakedness” has nothing to do with Noah getting drunk, other than the fact that his being drunk and passed out is what allowed Ham to “uncover his father’s nakedness”, because, according to Leviticus, to uncover a man’s nakedness is to have intercourse with his wife. So, Ham had intercourse with Noah’s wife, Ham’s own mother, and the son who was produced from that wicked act was cursed by Noah. When you understand this incident in light of Leviticus 20, it becomes clear why Ham’s son was cursed for what Ham did, rather than the curse being put upon Ham. Noah cursed a son of Ham which hadn’t even been born yet, because of how the son was conceived. Ham’s brothers respected their father, Noah, and walked backwards to cover their mother’s naked body, showing honor to both their mother and father. This has much deeper meaning than just Noah’s drunkenness and his son mocking it. We use scripture to interpret scripture.
@bbl5499 Жыл бұрын
The sons of Noah who came out of the ark were Shem, Ham, and Japheth. And Ham was the father of Canaan. 19These three were the sons of Noah, and from them the whole earth was populated. 20Now Noah, a man of the soil, proceededa to plant a vineyard. 21But when he drank some of its wine, he became drunk and uncovered himself inside his tent. 22And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw his father’s nakedness and told his two brothers outside. The verses say twice Ham the father of Canaan. First before the account of Noah's drunkedness. Meaning Ham is already father of many sons, Canaan being his youngest. If Canaan is not yet born, Noah just wakes up and knows the name of the son that's yet to be born....... Its' said Noah uncovered himself, it's so straightforward, why do you need to pull the leviticus trick here? To add your twisted understanding to scriptures that's it. This is not correct. You can do better.

Go after the closest human. What this video demonstrates more than anything is the penchant for religious people to read a lot more into a story than there is there. Noah got drunk, took his clothes off and went to bed. Woke up with a hangover and was grouchy. Sound familiar?

I think it is likley Ham did rape Noah one way or the other; perhaps this kind of behavior existed before the flood as well. It is hard to tell since hebrew is very discreet in it's discussion of such things. Noah likely did not invent alcohol either. Noah was a righteous man and likely did not intend to get drunk. At higher elevations and thinner atmospheres (perhaps like Mt. Ararat) the lower oxygen in the air causes people to get drunk more easily. In fact, we know people were "eating, drinking, and giving in marriage" as if nothing was going to happen before the flood. Either way, Canaan's curse is only logical because Canaan was raised by a bad influence like Ham, so he would naturally repeat the abomination he learned from his father. In this way, the curse of Canaan was actually a blessing since it meant Canaan would forced to serve the respectful and righteous instead of repeat his father Ham's abomination. Keep in mind that Sodom and Gomorrah was inhabited by the descendants of Canaan, so I think the hint that Ham's abomination was a sexual sin seems quite likely, and it was passed down through Canaan's line since Canaan was alive at the time (probably Ham's first born) and may have even witnessed it.

You need to study your Bible a little closer. Seeing Noah's nakedness means that Ham had known his own mother and that's the reason for Canaan's curse. Canaan was the son of the union of Ham and Noah's wife. The term nakedness is well explained in Lev 18:6-9 but more directly in Lev 20:11.

So Jesus Christ came to pay the price and became a curse for the cursed so that the cursed may gain access to the undeserved blessing of Abraham. Galatians 3:13-14. God is omniscient. He knows everything. He prepared a body for His only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to come and feel in the flesh, all what man is going through, while He Himself remains sinless, meaning, He doesn't indulge in sin. So, He eventually was condemned as a sinner- study Mark 14:51, the story of the naked young man. That was the reason Jesus's sweat were like drops of blood, when He got to the last sin He had to deal with that would condemn Him to shame, torture and consequently, a cursed death on the cross- simply because He was set up in the middle of the night, as He prayed, in the garden of Gethsemane, to be doing stuff the laws condemned with penalty of death, by stoning, but was cranked up to become dead on the cross. Judas kissed him, not a peck in the cheek but a full blown kiss, in order to set him up, but he didn't know his act was just a distraction, the people that hired him, already prepared a worse scenario- using the young guy that fled into the night naked. Jesus Christ refused to tattle on him, nor did he ask them to go get him to speak for him, because He came for the very reason, to die for the undeserved, who, if and when they come to this realization, would immediately repent and accept the cleansing power of the blood that bought them. He even became their high Priest, who is touched by the feeling of their infirmity, understanding where they come from, but hoping they will come to Him and cast it all on Him, and take His Rest! He already made that call!!! Will you answer, will you imagine what they must have done to him, with such a charge, in that day and age? All just to make atonement for every sin conceivable, including what you're struggling with at this moment! Give it all to Him! Being mad at the preacher will not assuage your guilt and self- condemnation, and self torture and self hatred and self judgment. He already did it all- for YOU!!! Which of these religious leaders who abbet them ever promised to pray to God for them. How can the blind lead the blind? Anyone that has encountered God by the preaching of the gospel of salvation by grace through faith in the sacrificial death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ, and still remain unconcerned and unrepentant, has already forfeited his mercy, and grace that bought him from the devil, who has the power of sickness, afflictions, terror, oppression, death and the grave. No escaping him. Let the love of God for you, in Christ Jesus, constrain you to listen, receive, accept, confess, believe and abide in His love, justification from all your sins, past, present and future, And live the new life purchased by the shedding of His blood, and by imputting God's righteousness that declared you "faultless, blameless ", before the presence of God, with whom you have to give an account, whether you like it or not! No excuses on that day, for God will definitely be Just and Righteous when He metes out judgment, and all mouths will be quiet!

Hello JAH children...facts to consider 1: JEHOVAH Blessed Noah and his sons..2:Ham saw noah drunk and naked in his own tent..3:he told his brothers..4:shem and jepheth walked backwards and covered noah..Now lets not interject ideas and ignore facts since scriptures must be taken in context,so ham clearly err by entering noahs tent without his permission then when he saw noah drunk and naked he didnt do the moral thing of covering noah but instead gossiped to his brothers about what he saw.Now we can see the issue there because his brothers did what was right and went in backwards so they didnt see noahs nakedness thus did an honourable and moral thing..the fact that the brothers walked backwards to cover noah is enough to show how serious modesty was observed in those days making it even more clear that hams sin was immoral and blatant disrispect for noah his father but because GOD has already blessed noah and his sons, when noah found out what ham did he couldnt directly curse an already blessed ham so he cursed hams son canaan...look at covered noahs nakedness and uncovered noahs nakedness in context in relation to the effort the brothers went through to cover noah and then you realise nothing but that took place because if so then by the later mosaic law both ham and noah would have to be killed if he told his brothers he slept with noahs wife(his own mother)...to sexually assault your own father or mother would be an immediate death sentence not just a curse friends..hope this helps..CHRIST SAVED US ALL U ONLY NEED TO BELEIVE AS HE SAID.

Ham had sex with Noah's wife, that's what "knowing" his father's nakedness means.
@jpatpat9360 Жыл бұрын
Serious scholars, using instances elsewhere im scripture of the same Hebrew words, thag Ham probably raped his mother. The reason Noah cursed Canaan would be because his grandson was the issue of this sin and therefore the bloodline was cursed. I don't know how accurate this is but it certainly explains why Ham wasn't cursed but his descendants. It is said that Ham was told to leave his father's house after this.

His nakedness means his wife. Bible translates Bible. His nakedness was with wife and Ham hot her pregnant. The grandson is the production of that.

This is not the Jewish understanding at all. There is an entire body of Jewish work that contradicts what you are saying. 1) The Tree of Life is God's blessing to us. Not the Tree of Separation aka the Tree of Knowledge of good and evil. 2) The Jewish community by in large considers Ham to represent the arrogant "I" am that has TURNED around. 3) Pay attention to any movie or TV show and you will see the embedded symbology about 1 eye. 4) Noah, like Lot, is an example of separation at its worst. True children of God, do not use curses. Only evil behaves in this manner.

Oh brother! It's amazing how religious gurus can add their own opinion on scriptures. No wonder christianity is divided into more than 40 thousand sects. What exactly is criminal about seeing your father or anyone else naked? How was Ham telling his brothers that he saw his father naked a sin and how was that considered as shaming his father? 🤔

We only need to be 'terrified' if we believe this story literally happened. It didn't - it's a mythological story.

Here's the tning about the Bible: It explains everyrhing we need to know, and it answers the most basic questions of philosophy. If you reject it, then you will habe to find an answer to questions like, what happens when we die, to the part of us that is not physical, the part that dreams and reasons and recognizes us in a mirror? And, Where did all the matter and energy that exist, come from? Now, if you're one of those clever atheists who demands logic and proof and evidence, but ignores the four separate accounts of the resurrection of Jesus, and maybe even the Roman histories that corroborate the majority of the Gospels, then you are already shooting yourself in the foot. Even more, where did all the matter and energy come from? No answer has ever been suggested, that doesn't require belief in something that cannot be proved or disproved. That is, faith.

You've gone off on various tangents Joshua. Let's get back to the subject at hand: Ham and Noah. All I'm saying is that the story didn't actually happen in history.

The ancient sages say that Ham had relations with his father and then castrated him because he didn't want his father to have anymore children...

They're ancient fools, don't listen to them, they knew not scriptures, they kept their oral tradition of personal interpretations, that's been finaly compiled in the talmud and from which Judaism sprang. Revelations 2.9 and 3.9. Beware of their leaven.
