Brilliant video and visual explanation. Brought a tear to my eye hearing Slavco S57DX on your radio . Now silent key but what an operator. 73 have subscribed de M0JFE John

I have also used one of these and they are quite effective especially if parked on high ground . You need at least a 7” mag mount to ensure enough coupling and a wound choke at the base of the antenna could help

Hello Keith, I want to thank you for your video for this antenna. My callsign is PD7CB from the north east of the netherlands. You probably know me from the Sunday night gentlemen's club. I am also going to purchase this antenna. I first wanted to buy a very expensive atas for my yeasu but this seems better!!! Thanks and see you soon

Congrats on your new callsign . These am pros are fantastic for getting on the bands fast and you can use 2 for the same band and make a small portable dipole with them aswell

I just bought one of these and am struggling to tune it. Looks like it is way too long - will need to snip it down.

When operating in a car, even though parked, surely the correct suffix is /M not /P ?
@2m0kiescotlandАй бұрын
/M means mobile im not mobile
@jimfuller239Ай бұрын
@@2m0kiescotland So your car isn't mobile?
@2m0kiescotlandАй бұрын
@@jimfuller239 did you see it moving ???
@2m0kiescotlandАй бұрын
@@jimfuller239 /M =mobile ie MOVING im not moving im parked =/P portable wither the antennaand radio is fixed to the car or not im portable (not mobile moving) ... you should maybe get /M and move on to someone elses youtube channel and argue the toss over silly stuff like this 😂 take care n 73 ✌️

@@2m0kiescotland The dictionary meaning of 'mobile' is 'able to move or be moved freely or easily'. There's no requirement to actually be moving, just to be freely or easily moveable. I would concede that the licence allows any suffix to be used so long as the station remains identifiable, so you're good there. However, portable is most often used when operating from a temporary location, a fixed spot where you set up your equipment, typically like a park or a hilltop, and afterwards pack it away before you leave. To use 'portable' when your in a car mis-describes your station setup to your contacts. I suggest that you yourself go watch other KZbinrs working stationary from their cars and listen for their suffix.

I use Ampro's for 10, 15, 20, 40 and i have one for 80(more like a large wire wound resistor) they are fantastic antenna's imo, i have pairs for 10 and 20 so can make a small portable dipole. 73's de G0SGO
