Israel has confirmed the death of Hamas Chief Yayah Sinwar. According to the Israeli Defence Forces, Sinwar was found in an Israeli military operation in Rafah's Tal El Sultan area. A drone caught the Hamas militant’s last moments, with Israel’s Defence Minister terming his killing as a clear message to Israel’s enemies. Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that evil has been “dealt a blow” but stated that Israeli operations in Gaza are far from over. U.S. President Joe Biden congratulated Israel for eliminating Sinwar. Iran on the other hand has warned of increasing its retaliations in the face of the Hamas leader’s killing. As an Indian, we believe in freedom. I hope one day Palestine will be freed and their freedom fighters will be celebrated as national heroes as we did in India who fought then mighty British.
