90s and 00s were the best era. They played hard but beautiful football. Games were broadcasted on regular channels. We did not have to pay to watch EPL, Series A, La Liga, or CL games. And the players were out of this world, too many legends. Man, I wish I could go back in time.

Damals gab's einfach viel mehr Spitzenteams und auch der Rest war auch noch viel näher an diesen dran. Das war alles unheimlich eng und spannend. Heute stellt sich egtl. nur die Frage, ob Bayern oder Real in Form sind und vllt. noch ein weiterer Club wie Barca oder Liverpool, wobei die beiden momentan auch weit abgeschlagen sind. Dann gibt's noch PSG und City, die mit ihren Milliardentruppen dann aber idR spätestens im Halbfinale scheitern, weil die außer viel Geld dann auch nichts zu bieten haben. Und der gesamte Rest ist dann egtl. auch nur Kanonenfutter für die paar Spitzenteams. Wenn Teams wie Juventus, AC Milan, Arsenal, Man United & Co. heute nach München kommen, fragt man sich ja nur noch, wie hoch der Bayernsieg wohl ausfallen wird und ob es den genannten Teams einen Totalschaden zu vermeiden.

90s-20s everything was better, from cinema to music to nba and to football. i dont know why but its the reality. would never change that growing up that time with kids now. football is long dead. look at all the boring finals from the last years in the champions league. also other leagues. and stars? we dont have any stars now. but in that time... it was crazy. every team had stars. this game for example, even teams like hamburg were pretty good. everybody who saw them these years knows how hard it was to play them in their own stadium. unfortunately we have really bad times in football. the final between chelsea-city will be boring again, i can easily tell you.

Joar und in typischer HSV Manier war das dann der Anfang vom Ende der Ära Pagelsdorf. Ich werde nie vergessen wie Arrogant und Pomadig sie am Sonntag nach dem Sieg in Turin dann in Unterhaching spielten und in den letzten 5 Minuten aus 1:0 eine 1:2 Niederlage machten von der sie sich auch nicht mehr erholen sollten die Saison.

Beim Tor Del Piero mit Inzaghi verwechselt, und hätte es in 100 Jahren nicht gemerkt, wenn man es ihm nicht eingeflüstert hätte. Beim klarsten Elfmeter der Fußballgeschichte: „ich glaube nicht, dass das einer war“. Great game - coverage made it feel like it went on for days! I think around this time is where Hamburg's problems began. Too many mercenaries, not enough local players. Not enough German players in the team.

That is wrong. This team and their run were a result of the new stadium and the investments flanking it. The new stadium created a buzz after years of lackluster football in the old Volksparkstadion and it s outdated running tracks. Coach Pagelsdorf was a good hire at the time. We were lucky to get the end of Yeboah, who is one of the best strikers i have ever seen and we got Sergej Barbarez for a very cheap price. If it was not for the war in former Yugoslavia this player among others would have had a much different career. He s a hothead and enjoyed life, but his left foot was worldclass. Great baller. The team fell apart after Yeboah retired and Butt went to Leverkusen. The next phase after that was even better though. We signed van der Vaart, de Jong (what a player 🙌🏻), van Buyten, Atouba, Kompany etc That team was incredible with van der Vaart and Barbarez as their OMs. Despite some super gifted players like Ze Roberto, van Nistelrooy, Elia, Petric etc the club never reached that level again. Unfortunately during the time when CL got financially overpowered and made impossible for every team to close the gap to Bayern Munich Has nothing to do with local players etc. That is just the way football business changed.
