Holy Flurking Schmitt, I have HamClock running in a Chrome browser tab on my Win11 machine. You have no idea how much of a technical victory this is for me... something I have wanted to get working for several years now. And ... there it is. I moved all my Ham software including HC off my windows machines and onto their own Quatro and I have a raspberry pie 5 on order to move everything on to that when it gets here.

Linux is a real trip to work with, just because something works on one computer doesn't mean it will work even on an identical computer. Spent years fighting these battles.

I also battled to bring up the config screen BUT managed to figure it out... Click and hold on the lock icon and hamclock will restart and once restarted will allow you to click to select setup mode...

It wont open up I type wsl sudo hamclock and I get the prompt again. Like its already running but I can get it in the browser either

Everything seemed to be working all the way up to actually getting HamClock to open. No window popped up, and the IP address method won't work on Vivaldi, Edge, or Firefox. And I allowed them access through the firewall and disabled all tracking blockers. Not sure what went wrong. Will maybe uninstall Ubuntu and try it all again.

I have the same issue, seems to be installed just fine, but nothing opens/runs when asked.

Thanks for the video but as with others, I get to the final step using the WINDOWS 10 Cmd Prompt and then nothing. This is driving me crazy! Please please help??

The hamclock user contrib page was very useful because the last few commands made it work. The last few commands from the first instruction page did not work. Thanks.

It worked for me on windows 11 my only problem is it will not start up from the cmd prompt. I have to tell cmd prompt to open it and then with the prompt still up open a browser with the IP to open the hamclock and still it will only stay up for about 30 min before the cmd prompt closes and that of course kills the browser page. What do I need to do?

I got everything working but the resolution at 800 is to small and now it doesn't let me change it. Any tips on how to get the view bigger?

Click and long hold (3sec) the lil lock icon in the lower right-hand corner of the Clock window.. It will pop up with a few options, click restart and then you will be able to click on the setup screen at the beginning of the startup

I get to the cmd line, enter the command and get a message that reads '' sudo: hamclock: command not found''. What's broken? It doesn't run from a browser either.

never could get the program to open up with the setup screen, so I used the link to get into the web live view, is there anyway to get into the setup menu from the web live view

Long press the lock icon for more then 3 sec and it will pop up a window for restart

@@kf0idt the site that has all the commands mentions setting up a Task Scheduler to run the command prompt with "wsl sudo hamclock &" and enter the password so that on startup or on log on for windows the command prompt will run and your internet link will work with out having to run command prompt manually. Did you do that and if so do you have any instructions for doing this? command prompt

Urgent help if anyone knows please!!! when I try to open hamclock in command prompt I put in my password and it goes back to c:windows\system32> like nothing was typed in so guess it wont start, any idea how to sort this out any help would be greatly appreciated.

When typing in the PW it will not show up and when enter is press it will do nothing on cmd prompts .. you will need to open the browser up and 127.0.0.1:8181/live dot html... also watch the update video I posted as well

Ok after you get the password thing done you went up off the black screen and you clicked on something?? What ? Your off the screen and when you clicked on it it brought up where we start to get instructions to hamclock!! I am stuck with the black screen not knowing how to proceed!!!!! Eerrrrrrr! What did you click on and where? Was is in that app we installed ?????

Re-enter the resolution command and it will rewrite it to the new setting.

Hi ive created a password and username. but then i goto UPDATe i will not let me type in a password... it actually wont let me typer at all... and yeah the keyboard is woreking.. any idea why it wont let me type... i know it doesnt show but its typing absolutely nothing, Windows 10 user

Its a hidden password, it doesn't look like its typing but usually is. Realize this is 3 months old.

Yep like everyone else, went through this whole process for nothing. At the end hamclock does not start. Must be a step you missed to tell us in the video.

Did you open a new cmd prompt window and type in wsl sudo hamclock and then enter the PW when asked?

Another colossal waste of time screwing around with Linux. I installed Ubuntu in Windows. I copied and pasted all the commands to download and unzip hamclock etc, and Ubuntu returned syntax errors. My God.... working with Linux is like pulling teeth.

Hamclock looks nice, but is almost useless.

It will take rotor ctl and rig ctl so it makes it a lil more useful then if it was just sitting on a screen ..
