When I started playing on a tablet in 2010 the few tablet players there were always told me to go full area. It was pretty common back then. I used full area since and every time I tried smaller areas I went back to full after a few days. It's just superior

My area is 15mm x 13.8mm, and it is still playable, you can even do small CS with it if you hold the pen right, and cross screens feel really nice to hit

ex tiny, small, full area player here, now playing on a slightly more sqaure ish full area type. exact measure is 124.04mm x 87mm (some area whitecat used or still uses) aspect ratio is 1.41:1. here is what i learned from it. 1st area 46,2mm x 25,9mm tiny (too big for finger aim too small for wrist aim) unoptimized new to game etc. 2nd area 70.3mm x 40mm small (too small for wrist arm combo aim *xooty playstyle) too big for finger) 3rd area FULL AREA (basically perfection, the one thing i didn't like was side to side requiered full arm movement due to my grip style at that time. 4th area ( i noticed that some people didnt force aspect ratio and thought it will fix my problems (IT DIDNT) but the side to side motion felt bearable again i did finally switch from holding my pen like a real pen and used both index and midlle finger to guide the pen pivoting my fingers up and down for small jumps or flow aim and for larger aim using wrist instead of using lower arm like xooty i switch hand position to increase the amount i can wrist aim this works best for cross screen diagonal jumps. and because of the squashed area it allows for nearly 360 degree aim control with wrist, i dont know if this will at some point turn into RSI simulator, but so far its been good, i do use my arm to switch between the diagonals so for example top left to down right i push my arm toward top left to allow the hand to rotate allowing for wrist aim in those two quadrants, when doing down left to top right i push my arm to the side allowing for a big flick type of movement using both wrist and arm at the same time. tl;dr two hand positions, two wrist positions, finger (up down pivoting) used to smoothen everything. ah yes one thing i forgot to add, this abuses the fact that im using a 60% keyboard and allows me to have my tablet closer to the center of my body. if you have space you can just move your keyboard, uhhhh yeah i have a wall there, so not working for me, keypad also works of course :D this turned out to be really in depth and maybe hard to understand but thats the best i could put it.

bro im so similar to you i spent like a year trying to play with a terrible area 5 mm by 5mm then changed to 10 mm by 10 mm. consistency still hot garbage cuz my grip was terrible and made it hard to hit parts of the screen. in the past 2-3 weeks tho i changed to 12 mm by 12mm and i changed my grip trying to find one that would let me be consistent. finally i thought i found one but it stopped working after 2 days or so maybe cuz it was an extraordinarily precise location and grip but idk. this happened around 3 times. but today i changed back to 10 mm and changed grip and can finally reach all areas of the tablet properly and i finally have CONSISTENCYYYY

@@Cravun i forgot i even made this comment lol but yeah it didnt take that long to learn and it actually helped using full area for more accuracy. i havent played osu in months but i did go from 80% acc on 4* maps to 98% acc on 5* maps just during the time that i was learning full area which took a month in total probably. i also found out it was better for me because with a small area my arm tends to shake a lot but that stopped after switching to full
