This helped me a lot for an undergrad course, thanks for posting. At 0:44 the video depicts the nephew as William Story III, but many other sources (including the Quimbee brief for the case) identify him as William Story II. Minor discrepancy, just thought I'd point it out.

Hamer's argument is valid. How come the higher courts refused it? What's the reason? They all seem to agree on the sufficiency of consideration.

That probably was a case related with the "promise to give a gift" (which is not enforceable).
