@@woodgob3714 Don't be afraid of larger watches on smaller wrists. I have a miniscule 6.5 and easily wear a Casio Douro at 44mm. I'm coming up on 10 years at my job and have decided to treat myself to this watch. One more month....

You got a great deal. A very legible dial, brand heritage, 80 hr power reserve, what more do you need? Enjoy

Amen, thanks for watching Steve.

i actually prefer that it doesn't have khaki on the dial, when i hear khaki i think of the colour or the safari / military style pants called khakis, so it's a bit weird to see it on a watch.

You’ve got the older one with the 4hz eta 2824 movement. The new one has the powermatic 80. You got the better version imo.

Yeah she's older and shows her age and character but still cooking at 28800, I'm over the moon...good to have the khaki back, guess its time for SOTC 2024...coming soon, watches and sunglasses. Cheers

Why is it better, and how do you tell the difference?
@Murtagh6535 ай бұрын
@@svoids it is easier to work on, as the ETA movement is something that has been around a long time and any local watchmaker worth their salt would know how to service it. some people also prefer the higher HZ, as the stock ETA movement has more ticks per second so the second hand looks smoother. the newer movement is almost the same, except they have swapped the tick rate for a longer power reserve (80 hours) and i believe there may be a proprietary way of attaching the rotor to the movement, but i'm not sure. a way to tell the difference would be either to compare it with a watch that you know has 28800 beats per hour, to see if it has power reserve indicated on the back, or to just fully wind it and let it power down and see how long that takes , i believe the stock ETA movement only has a 40 hour power reserve.
@Sphyn0xАй бұрын
@@Murtagh653 I would rather have 28k bph than more power reserve. Can the older version still be bought? Ive also read that they are more difficult to "set" (not the correct term), because they removed some thing and you need some laser equipment instead or something.
@Murtagh653Ай бұрын
@@Sphyn0x i don't think there are any left with the old movement, unless you manage to find one used on something like ebay. i think that has to do with regulating the movement, though i'm not entirely sure how it works. anecdotally, they are supposed to be very accurate movements, but an average watchmaker might not be able to regulate them if necessary, though i could be wrong.
