The Hamilton LRT was about to start construction when Doug Ford cancelled it, the cancellation had nothing to do with the cost as they claimed, Ford wanted to punish mayor Andrea Horwath for speaking out against him. Years later he revived it, becoming a champion of transit in the province.

As someone who lived in hamilton years ago, I appreciated the mention of the BLAST network, and the suggestion to extend the LRT to confederation GO. Those and the connection to the other 2 GO stations would make the LRT very heavily used.

Great video! As long as the A & B lines get completed one day I am happy. To me having two lines in a city like Hamilton is the very minimum level of mass transit it should have, though personally I hope the train goes all the way to YHM aka John C Munro Airport because it is a facility that is woefully underused now and could make a great secondary International airport for the GTA since Pickering project does NOT seem likely anytime soon despite rumblings of its revival...

I doubt we'll see the A line completely turned into an LRT any time soon, but a portion going from King St to West Harbour GO is very likely in the future as mentioned in the video.
