The reason Burr has the ear-mic set-up but no one else seems to, is that everyone else has their mics hidden in their hair. You can see them a little bit if you look closely at Angelica and Peggy's foreheads. Burr, lacking hair, can't accomplish that, so ear-mounted.

The reason the womens' dresses are so brightly colored is so the audience can 1. see them well in the dark theatre and 2, and most importantly so that audience members can easily identify and differentiate them from eachother.
@frazzelc2 жыл бұрын
I’m not sure if it’s because the theatre was dark, but it was definitely because they also needed to be able to be clearly visible to those that were far away from the stage. Theatres are pretty big, probably even bigger for Broadway lol.

Makes sense to me, and that was kinda my assumption was that they're important, and that's to remember who they are.
@frazzelc2 жыл бұрын
@@YoBGS something that also helps with remembering who the important characters are, are their leitmotifs (if you don’t know it’s basically like their theme song lol) so then when a character appears after a while or want your audience to remember this character for important reason, their leitmotif plays. Hamilton likes its leitmotifs and evolves them (so their theme songs change with what the character has experienced). It’s pretty cool! Long story short: Hamilton makes characters more differentiated by their theme songs :p

Burr is a character that is acting as the musical's Narrator Character, you can see this in many musicals, Clopin from Hunchback of Notre Dame, Officer Lockstock in Urinetown, The Criminalogist in Rocky Horror Picture Show, The Greek Chorus in Little Shop of Horrors, etc etc So while he is in the story, he also acts to set the scene. This is such a fantastic number! And yes, that run at the end is mind blowingly perfect ✨ As many have said in the comments, Burr's mic is like that because he doesn't have longer hair to hide the ones that go above the forehead. If you check the rest of the cast closely, you might spot their mics too. And as for Lafayette being there, the whole cast is almost constantly taking part in the larger numbers. Laurens and Mulligan were there too, matter of fact 🤭 I think it's a great idea to have the next three songs together, and right after that you ABSOLUTELY NEED to react to the following three together (Winter's Ball, Helpless, Satisfied), they are literally all part of a whole and you will appreciate them much much more watching them together. I find it funny that Ron Chernow, author of the book that Lin read while on vacation (I think it was actually his honeymoon) that inspired Hamilton, Ron Chernow took issue with the implication that Alexander Hamilton was quick to violence from the "burser punching" part, but not that Lin forgot about and essentially erased from the show MULTIPLE SCHUYLER BROTHERS. Also, Lin researched the use of the term "diarrhetic" for "Cabinet Battle #1" to make sure it was used in the same way at the time, while "flying by the seat of his pants", said by Angelica in "Satisfied" was coined in I believe the 1930's.

It's also why she's able to offer Hamilton advice about Jefferson later in the show while they're writing to each other.
