Another idea , when you cant see what you need to take off parts , use a good flashlight and your cell phone to take a video , in hard to get to places , then you can rerun the video and hopefully see the problem Great videos keep on keeping on ....it's great to see those old dinosaurs come to life

The large lever is the throttle the smaller shorter lever above it is the fuel shut off that should be connected to a cable that goes to a knob on the dash not sure why so much money was spent on a fuel pump on an old truck. I sold a lot of Factory reman pedigreed fuel pumps like that one when I work at the Mack Dealership in the 80s

Great to see some use in this old equipment even if it's used somewhere else...we need to change our mindset from just toss and scrap everything to a more rebuild and repurpose. The diesel filter is at bottom that is water drain petcock from Parking diesel filter. Right there on your hand was the Bosch Cummins diesel fuel filter head fitting so it take twist it on filter with capacity one quart.

On a few old inline pumps I've had the cam follower stick in the bore of injection pump. Take the lines off use a pin punch bump motor if it's not moving give em a tap until they cycle up and down smoothly

Can you bring it up the top dead center and make sure it's number one and not number 6 in the crankshaft spends probably about 30 times before the timing marks will wind up again

The service truck has enough room, they could get a 12 volt Charger and run a power line and ground off the truck batteries or get a large Power inverter, hard wire the charger so they can throw starter batteries on it and let them charge while they are in route to where they are going,

There a hole for a drill bit on the fly wheel, about a 13m or eq , then on the water pump and other timed bits has the same thing a hole when the mark on the flywheel lines up will all the drill bits in place you are at TDC on 1 put a spanner or socket with a tube and move it by hand , first disconete your battery , like that no one can turn the engine over by accident , The flywheel where the starter is, the timing marks are on the other flywheel where the radiator is , its very simple to do , good luck guys.

My sockets are 30mm deep set 32, 34mm and 1 1/2 inches shallow socket 12 point 3/4 inch drive and Snap On professional ASE tools.

This is a Mack in somewhat year 1990 plus it has hours of driving odometer. The turbo must rotate plain your recommendation air pneumatic and blow thru turbo. It should loose spin easily. Use 2 heavy batteries and hook up to 24 volt engine starter. And diesel is okay and J doubt it so use gasoline for cold start. And brake is bad use your big puller and pusher to grab the brake drums very press it out of it. Then do you have the pusher puller on 21 inch wheel. Thank you very much.

When I was 12 i got a fordson tractor going flat head removed that had a fire and oil in bores hit pistons with a round fence post. Had only hand tools No batteries as it had a magneto and a crank handle

Is that 2 valve plus 2 stroke exhaust port and Most of Mack diesel engine is 4 stroke but the piston is 6 inch long dish top piston drop forged. The piston not flat top and neither domed top. They would sleeve the piston and kill the piston head and it bore thru their piston for 8 cylinder E Model Engine Mack and Bosch turbocharger on cool blower side.

Glow is glow plug similar to spark plug very 6000 rpm not engine revolution just tester revolution repeat sparks arc many time per second. The exhaust port and intake type 2 stroke is right on the side of the engine block counter flow of inline 6 big engine.Include s dry pump turbo.
