In 1991 New Zealand were the defending RWC champions. England were the hosts. I guess one statement out of every two correct is all you can expect from Murdoch these days.

Cricket at it's lowest, was about 6x the size of Union at it's best. Trying to compare the 2 makes no sense.

Question: during play, what is the action called when players form a sort of 'running scrum' to push the ball carrier forward (usually over the try line)?

New Zealand won their First Rugby World Cup Final in 1987, and when the Rugby World Cup was held in 1991 New Zealand were the Defending Rugby World Cup Champions until Australia Defeated New Zealand in the Rugby World Cup Semi-Final at Lansdowne Road County Dublin in the Republic Of Ireland on Sunday the 27th of October 1991. England, were Rugby Cup Hosts along with Ireland, Scotland, Wales, France, for the year 1991. England did not win their First Rugby World Cup Final until the year 2003 when they Defeated Australia in the Final at Stadium Australia, Sydney on Saturday the 22nd of November 2003.

Its rare for any team to win 2 out of 3 world cups as the Aussies did in the nineties. Australia played the RWC final in 2003 , 20015 and made the semifinals in 2011 only to be put out by world no 1 and eventual champions NZ. So its hardly a disaster . Ireland, no 1 side in the world currently, have never got past the the RWC Qfs . Scotland have never beaten NZ in their history.Although the Australians havent won the Bledisloe since 2003 the real drop off came post 2015 where we saw the Wallabies struggle and the Australian franchisees became relative easy beats at Super Rugby.

In Wales things are worse. They get on with it, work harder and are improving. In Australia there's bed wetting and tears of pain. People need to grow up, work harder and improve. End of

Why aren't Aussies dominating F1 too? It's a niche sport, and only gets the media attention it does because the owners once played it at boarding school.

Absolutely bizarre logic. Cricket pays its women players more than rugby pays its women players there cricket is doing better than rugby. Utterly ridiculous.

0:49 I had stop watching after you said that England were defending champs in 1991. Their first and only WC was in 2003. To get this basic fact wrong means you haven't invested enough care or effort to warrant my continued listening.

I don’t think the core of Union was strengthened when it started employing League advisors into the high levels of coaching. They certainly introduced a few good tactics, but looking back to those wonderful days in the 70’s and 80’s when France and Wales would play a sparkling inspirational game, it is sorely missed. The kick everything No 10, such as Farrell has dogged much of the England game, and that will take a while to shake off. Listening to what Johnny Wilkinson had to say, however it seems as though Woodward was a great encourager of that tactic. The over zealous administration of the Woke agenda as far as red and yellow cards is horrible, along with the undermining of the ref is always right policy, with the introduction of a team of faceless wonders in a box far far away who hold everything back for long term consideration, as the game gets cold. The stupid messing about of the props between themselves, to try to enforce penalties, as a result of a petty infringement is a stupid waste of time. That has seemed to be the props only purpose in life, which is a pity, as no-one wants to watch a game decided by meaningless penalties. The dramatic cost of match tickets, and the overall cost of a day or weekend away to watch a game, which could be ruined by some peculiar refereeing judgement, by sending a player off, and unbalancing the game. See last women’s World Cup final for an obvious example. Those I believe are the main areas of fault for the spoiling of a great game, but I could go on. Removing Rugby Special from main line TV could be argued as limiting the game away from the view of a potential learning audience. 5 minutes of highlights is not showing the heart of a game. Eddie Jones……. Need I say more?

Wait not trying to be sexist but if this was put together by a guy he would of been laughed out of the office yet this dribble has mad it to the papers podcast? Let's start at the start of their problems rugbys golden era is over and has taken 20 years after that generation and turbulent management to put it in the point its in now. Then if you add in the fact afl soccer have both grown experientially in union heartland and parenting changes to softer spots the player base has collapsed. Now for the cricket Kerry packer was long gone buy the time 2018 so his involvement is quiet negligible. The teams that were doing so bad in 2018 were still basically intact at this so called turn around with only Bancroft still out of the test team.
