Spot on.

Thank you ! The primary conversation is exacly what have been going threw since in shoot film. I've been starting by pushing my film with high concentration developper. Now I shoot it at box speed with lower concentration of chemicals and I'm thinking about pull or underexpose it, because you get more range and "flatter" negative, it is also easier to work with. :)

Kudos to Ashley. Love the urban malaise work. @Hamish - Having shot a load of reversal film in the 80s & 90s I'd not rush back to it. It can't be printed (Cibachrome is dead and was a complete pain when it was alive) and if you are going to scan it why not shoot C41or (heaven forbid) digital. If you plan to *always* have a computer in the loop then it does beg the question why use film at all. Maybe large format transparencies as products in their own right but the pleasure of producing 35mm slides seems a somewhat narrow one. Perhaps like handing around a Victorian stereoscope?

Are you a freelancing photographer? Can I bring my graphics and learning photography questions here? Your photos are great! 📷 I brought a Nikon 3300 for a beginner what equipment are you using?

Film Camera Reviews the good thing about doing this for me, is it all makes me think about stuff too

@@HamishGill well I do always think and I'm sure I'm a little biased, but the film community is a good bunch. Most are happy to share knowledge, and give free constructive advice. I hope you get the time to do more of these types of videos.

Right chaps, I have some HP5 and for some time I have had the notion of pushing it to maybe 1600, however I,m using Kodak D76 and the data on the film box (I THINK) only rates D 76 up to 800asa. Could I go further with D76?
@HamishGill4 жыл бұрын
northstar1950 have you tried. I haven’t myself, but I think the trick is to experiment rather than worry too much about what it says on the box
@northstar19504 жыл бұрын
Hamish, well no I haven't tried it. I was going to go to 1600 but for the reasons above mentioned I had second thoughts. I might do further research. I have some 24 frame HP5 deliberately purchased it shorter form for experimental work. It shouldn't be to difficult to get some low light challenges this time of the year.
@northstar19504 жыл бұрын
@Dan , cheers, I will try that.
@HamishGill4 жыл бұрын
@@northstar1950 Indeed, but really, just shooting a test roll in the sort of light you might want to shoot in properly might be an idea. That's the joy of home dev, you can just experiment. Just make notes...

@Dan , thanks for responding, I have been developing film for more years than I care to remember! I still have a Patterson tank from the seventies and recently bought one for 120 film and have managed to ruin two rolls for two different reasons :(

These images are dull and very uninspiring. And Ashley rambling on about looking at the back of a digital camera, there is a simple solution to this.....don't look at the back of the camera.
