Most people overlook that institutional investors care about the next quarter so much because they're not deciding between investing in Chipotle or not investing in Chipotle. They're deciding between Chipotle and thousands of other investment options. They might think Chipotle is a good business with a good product, but if they think it's going to have a rough quarter, they are obligated to their employer, their clients, and yes themselves, to find a temporary alternative. Apple is always there to provide a near guaranteed 3% per quarter.

About a week ago I got soo sick from Chipotle. I was literally spraying liquid out of my ass every couple hours for almost 4-days. Couldn’t eat anything. Horrible stomach pain. I never eat fast food / “fast casual” food ever, but someone I was w/ wanted some. I had less than half of a steak bowl w/ white rice, veggies, corn, and hot salsa on the side. This is not the only place either. I had food poisoning two weeks prior as well. Not from Chipotle, but from other fast food a friend ordered. I just had half of a medium French fry. Was on the toilet for 2-days. I think this has a lot to do w/ the way the younger employees - younger than me - think they don’t have to do their jobs properly. Most likely disregarding food safety, etc. completely.

@MyExcellentOpinion so argentina has had a lot of fiscal problems, inflation has been through the roof. So they elected an economist for president who comes from the austrian school. I'm interested in watching a video about that and if there are any investment opportunities or something
@poil83512 ай бұрын
@@bionicle37 depends on who you ask. it highly questionable that the economy is actually recovering and it seems that inflation maybe starting to increase again also one does have to treat the offical Argentine economic figures with caution because the current government certainly has a specific agenda and may fudging the figures to paint a somewhat rosier picture than is necessary reality. it is pretty hard to get a clear reading on aregntina at the moment because different sources say different things.

When the peso is cheap and dólar is high, buy Argentine stocks. When it for macro seasons gets lower and the peso gains value like it's doing right now, sell the Argentine stocks and buy Cedears/Normal NYSE stocks, then repeat part one. I've been consistently getting like a solid 20% every time there's an exchange rate shift this way, and if it goes badly worse can happen is that you get confined to one of the markets to not lose value of investment, which is not bad at all

@JackMarch-t8kАй бұрын
correlation doesn't equal causation. Chipotles recent success has very little to do with the fact it had a drop in stock value due to a food poisoning outbreak. Most of the success couldn't have been predicted and with hindsight is very easy to say it would be a good investment. If you want to value invest and buy a stock when its undervalued it certainly helps to buy at a time when the stock has an artificially low valuation due to bad media coverage however factors such as the CEO, CFO, Assets, Liabilities, room for growth, p/e etc is a lot more indicative of future potential than something as meaningless as a food poisoning imo. Interesting video none the less.

@alonewanderer46972 ай бұрын
@@Phosfit Chi-Chi's is one of the scarce cases where a poisoning scandal directly contributed to the bankrupcy of a chain. They had a Hepatitis A outbreak in 2003 and closed in 2004. Other cases are Jack in the Box (1993) and Sizzler (2000). Both companies survived, though many locations had to be closed. Sizzler later filed for bankrupcy due to Covid in 2020. Jack in the Box still exists, though its stocks have been declining last few years. No more cases to go over, really. Large fast food chains are too big to fail, I suppose :)
@wayward032 ай бұрын
@@Phosfit The issue is that the vast majority of these ( I've yet to hear of one that was) cases were due to a supplier and not the restaurant themselves. People Also have a short memory. If the business is otherwise doing well but the stock drops due to a scare then the advice would be sound.

@@HamishHodderAs another person mentioned, this biggest point of note here was the survivorship bias. I do understand why you clarified this is not advice though, which was for legal reasons. I just want to give you a bit of a warning though, that this disclaimer must be mentioned at the start of any video, as some people may think this *is* advice. People are really easy to convince, and I would like to gently remind you that in your description you literally have links titled "LEARN TO INVEST IN STOCKS." Even if you aren't the one teaching that (which that is absolutely financial advice), that gives the impression that what you are discussing are genuine, reputable investing techniques. I'm only saying this to save you from possible legal stress, as finance is a heavily regulated industry where clarification matters.

But I am by no means a prolific investor, something that I have focused on a lot in my personal investment journey is leveraging my knowledge of politics and history. Similar to this, using News, I remember that I was able to turn a $60 investment into a microcap company into a 10 X return because of the fact that news broke they were suing a much larger firm in the space. Of course I didn’t cash out because I was greedy, but I find this philosophy of investing to be interesting.
