Michael Burry will forever go down in history as a genius for predicting the Real Estate bubble and making a fortune out of it. And because of that KZbinrs follow him religiously to everything he buys, sells or tweets thinking he’s going to be able to do it again. Who knows, maybe he will but some of his investments are very questionable. He’ll buy a stock and 3 months later will sell it either at a loss or no profit at all.

Look at the history of gold performance during recessions and you will note that gold may perform well going into a recession, but does not perform well in the later stages of a recession when people feel panic and/or need cash liquidity and start selling everything.

That is usually temporary and corrects with monetary policy. And gold still holds its value while the market sells off, meaning it is outperformed by cash but when the panic selling is done it rapidly takes off again.
