Lovely Uke, I have the Tenor natural version - my old Kala Zircote tenor has turned cupboard Queen since I got the Lanikai! I find these harder on my Uke than my guitar for some reason, OK when plugged in but not when not plugged in; do you think that I’m not flicking off forcefully enough? I love that intro to. ‘My girl’ must learn it!

Thanks for the video! I have been practising but I’m not getting the proper sound for the hammering, I have tried different pressures and it just stops the sound. Do you think it can sometimes be that the ukulele doesn’t have much sustain? I will keep practicing and I really appreciate the videos. You are a great teacher!

Good question. It's a little hard for me to decipher what the problem may be because I literally can't see what you're doing, but I've found that my students commonly struggle with the hammer-on not being as loud as when they pluck the string. That's OK. It doesn't mean that you're doing something wrong. If it sounds muffled and significantly quieter than the plucked string, try plucking the string a little harder and then try hammering on more quickly. If you're too slow, you end up touching the string and stopping the vibration. That results in a muffled tone rather than a clear note. Try those things and see how it goes. I hope that helps.
