Pump shotgun is.. not great in zero build, it's decent early game but quickly falls off because range is the meta in this mode, and sniper dominates, gatekeeper and frenzy auto are only the "oh fuck guy got too close, plan b"

The issue with the hammer pump is that it's dmg to body feels way to low compared to prev pump shotguns which yeah I love they reward headshot damage but still I feel the hammer pump could deserve a buff in the body shots to make it similar like the striker pump or thunder shotgun

nerd here, ill compare the havoc pump and hammer pump shotguns so you know why theyre both so weak (number warning) - a mythic hammer deals 108 max body damage - a GRAY HAVOC PUMP deals 108 body damage as well - the hammer and havoc shotguns both have the same max headshot damage scaling - 170 for gray, up to 190 legendary, both with a 1.85x headshot multiplier - however the hammer's bodyshot damage is so weak that the only one that can actually deal max damage is the legendary version, where you'll need every single pellet to connect to the head to deal exactly 190 (it scales 157, 165, 174, 183, 190) - this can be made slightly more consistent if you have the Ares medallion which buffs your damage by 1.05%, allowing you to actually "max pump" with blue rarity and higher (green and gray still fall short from their caps) compare this to the havoc pump's 132 body, you can easily 190 with it even if you only hit around half your bullets on the head, whereas that same shot would net you around 140-150 on the hammer i need to test this myself, but i'm pretty sure the havoc has a max body damage as well, as in you don't need to hit all bullets to deal 132 (im pretty sure each individual pellet at legendary deals 22, it shoots 10(?) which is 220, but caps at 132) which again helps a lot in consistency, the hammer does not have this - for comparison, the hammer deals 10.3 damage per pellet at legendary what also doesnt help is the reticle which is way looser than the havoc, sharptooth and even infiltrator which is always nice for ranged shots and peeks, and further the latter two shotguns also have damage caps which help them feel consistent to use, even if their max damage isnt close to the hammer's 190 The havoc has way more damage falloff, yes, but the tighter reticle (and the generally higher stats) still allow it to be used MUCH more consistently and effectively at midranges they could easily buff the hammer by increasing its bodyshot damage which would be nice, but to make it a shotgun that heavily relies on rewarding headshot damage they could just as easily buff its headshot multiplier from 1.85 to 2x - the mythic Havoc Pump already has a 2x headshot multiplier (which is funny bc the normal havoc has 1.85x) so it's not something they haven't done before, and it would also allow even a gray to hit max damage, while also providing a little bit of leeway for the higher rarities in hitting their max damage as well last note, the hammer pump also shoots slightly slower than the havoc :) (please buff this shotgun im crying)

Currently gatekeeper is the best, because it has bugged peaks (you are impossible to hit for your opponents when you do window/peanutbutter edit). It also makes a good combo with dmr (which does have the same bug), because of its "double pump" type of attack in the box (shoot, switch to dmr, shoot, switch to pump, etc.)

The warforged with a holo, the foregrip and the extended mag is OP. That thing hits like a truck and it is extremely accurate. Without the grip, the recoil is a little crazy.

I believe the game mode also depends on which shotgun is more benefficial. You could make a case for the three of them being semi-balanced in Battle Royale, with the only difference being playstiles of each player, but overall the Pump being the most reliable option for the majority of players. However, in Zero Builds the Frenzy Auto dominates every other shotgun unless it's facing a Gatekeeper with extended mag to even the battle out. Pump is unfortunately bad by itself in this mode, it heavily relies on only doing point blank damage and following up with a spraying weapon, otherwise it just gets outclassed

2:22 you should be using (the mythic) gatekeeper shotgun for wall replacing. Why? 93 structure damage. This means that if you are fast enough, if your opponent does: Any edit on a wood wall Any edit other than a door or a window on a brick wall A three/four tile on a metal wall any edit if the wall was not full hp you will be able to one shot the wall and take it from them very easily.

you can still effectively take walls with gatekeeper. it 2 shots fully build wood for a damage reference. either melee the wall once and and shoot to replace, you still have 2 shots (with the way this shotguns spread works it makes it easy for a few pellets to hit the head even when aiming for the body so getting over 100 per shot is easy). you can also shoot a few walls once with it, reload, then use another shot to break either of those walls while retaining 2 shots. just dont fire 2 shots to take a wall else you are just left with the 1 which is much more risky.

i would take the hammer pump as the gate keeper has a more spread out and a different crosshair which can make your aim trash and not only that you can easily die if you use all the three bullets plus with the a more spread out crosshair there is a higher chance of doing like 30 damage.

Gatekeeper is so broken, it it's the most versatile weapon that it's extremely good in both zero build and build mode and it's just the combat shotgun but does 90 damage, even the only downside that it's low ammo capacity can be easily bypassed using the drum mag Edit: it is the best weapon in zero build

No thats valid, the burst has a lot of benefits over the harbinger - WAY less damage falloff - more headshot multiplier (1.75 to harbingers 1.5) - MUCH more accuracy even without laser, the harbinger's initial accuracy is good but only if youve been holding it out for a while beforehand, if you initially swap to it then its initial bloom is terrible - this also makes it much better when midair The harbinger has more dps objectively, but the burst is generally more consistent - regardless of everything, weapon preference matters most, so if you're just better at using a burst than harbinger then by all means use what's comfortable :) theyre all good weapons

Pump is way better. We have very advanced mechanics and against good players it is becoming increasingly difficult to get opportunities to deal significant damage and pump shotguns will always let you hit navy hitting shots whenever you get a shot.

This season has had some of the worst lag ever. It’s not even my wifi at fault the game will just randomly start getting lag spikes from epics end. They are pushing the creative bull shit so much that it’s lagging out the servers of the main game modes that made Fortnite you know Fortnite. I’ll have a lag free game and then the instant second I get into a fight the game turns into a slideshow or just so laggy I can’t hit anything.
