Still getting used to it, but generally loving it so far. The best changes imo are the addution made to golfswing and general fluidity. I mean I love World/IB Hammer but actually landing a golfswing feels like a gamble in that game, but in Wilds the hitbox was fixed and it's finally possible to just repostion before the attack. Also love that it's a offset attack, which is just increadibly satisfying to land. Sunbreak Hammer is my favorite version in part because it allowed constant chaing of attacks or combos and also reaplying of buffs. Wilds keeps that tho to a lesser extend. As a sworn Hammer main I honestly have practically no complaints outside of minor preferences that I will certainly get used to in time. All I wish they imoroved was the feedback while charging, the vibration on controller feels a bit weak compared to World or even Rise on the Switch.

This game needs some "punching" (idk how to describe it) feedback, in World when you land a TCS you FEEL that slash, but in this game is like punching the air. But the rest of the game is just... Peak.

YES to this. The first weapon I tried was Bow and I felt that lack of oomph from my shots. Then I noticed I felt the same with every weapon. With SnS, I couldn't even feel if my attacks were connecting with the monster or not, only the numbers could confirm.

Focus mode really helps to consistently get the head hit zone but it feels (and looks) so awkward.

@@dread1255 it's not ideal, 100% true, but i'm getting around 90-100 during combat, dips into 70s here and there. Again, they are devoting the rest of development til the game releases solely to optimization, so plenty of time to get things sorted out to reach those higher targets

@@dread1255 Yeah I'm pretty sure this demo is an old build of the game from like months ago. They just wanted to carry out a demo here so they could gather data on how the game runs with various systems to boost the optimization process in the last months of development. And this demo was mainly for stress testing their servers in crossplay, so the quality wasn't of top-priority.

GS true charge does like 160 consistantly And around 250 on wake up What do you mean ? It's just not the TCS that we know, u have a counter, and a mobility that is never seen in great sword till now

I don’t like how KZbinrs make these games look so easy. If that was me that monster would never get stunned by hits, attack every 1/2 second, and dodge me non stop. Just sucks, so I always end up picking on great woggi’s.

In my opinion it’s because the MH weapons have such high skill ceilings for the most part. Most people tend to use the flashier weapons (especially content creators, who want to have as entertaining content as possible), which inherently means the “riskier”, flashier weapons. More movement, more inputs, more “controlling” the monster by making it move where you want it to. The thing is, that takes a *long* time of good practice with the weapon of choice and against the monster of choice. Monster hunter has such a dedicated community, most of the KZbinrs you’re seeing have played thousands of hours over multiple games by now. They’re just, insanely good at these games

Hammer is amazing. I cry about what they did to my switch axe... it feels awful now. Took an S-tier weapon and made it bottom of the barrel..
