This is an old film about the Hammer Technique. In the end of this film you can see the first throw over 80m from Zaitchuk.

Excellent !!!! to see Zaitchouk the first in 80m and your father, nikulin, sedykh, tamm very young. Mathematics serves the hammer (what technical progress made since)!! i love it, thx

quelle simplicité dans la technique! B.Z. est le père de toute cette génération dorée!

I don't think the hammer has advanced that much since those days. Those top Russian throwers are still at the tops of the all-time lists. Certainly some other throwers have thrown well but that technique is still the model of todays throwers. Some of those guys were dragging it a bit but for the most part that has tried to be alleviated in todays technique. Great film.
