joey L Hey Joel, so far no probs with my truck. I have the mega crew with the smaller bed. For me that’s the way to go. Also with the big screen as well. I saved a lot of money getting the 2019. The 2020 for me was not to many changed. Went to a car meet the other day and ppl are amazed how the truck looks from the inside to the outside. I say keep looking around different dealers with different types of Rebels.

I have the 19 Big Horn L2 with the 8.4 screen. I use Android Auto and it glitches sometimes but I think it's just my phone being crappy (new phone next week). My wife has no issues with Car Play when she connects her phone to it. The only issue I had with the "Media Hub" was the 3.5mm Aux jack was only giving my sound out of the left side of the car, the dealer ended up having to replace the media hub under warranty. I also noticed that little animation with the odometer counting up and it freaked me out at first as well. Thanks for the tip on the POR 15. I live in PA as well so I will be checking out the underside for rust hot spots.

Same problem with my 2019 Ram 1500 Laramie. I found the issue have more to do with my iPhone XR than the cord or the infotainment. When this happen, I always reboot my iPhone and works every time. I attribute this problem with the constant updates on the phone and sometimes apps causing irregularity to the phone operating system.

I have the same problem. In addition, sometimes my radio will turn on when I just open the Driver side door! I have also had the engine run like it’s in neutral after I stop at a stop sign!! It has been some good times lately. Can’t wait to get some time to bring it in for a check up.

I’ve had the same problem with apple carplay. Try to clean the connectorport of your iphone. Dust from your pocket will collect in there. Toothpick will do the trick.

Happens on sync 3 as well. Android and apple car play. Happens on hondas system too. It happened on our durango as well. I believe it's more of a phone issue than the different car system issues.

Hope you keep this series going. I have a 19 rebel 12 as well but I went without the ram box because I need the extra bed space for my woodworking! The only issue I've had with my radio is sometimes when i connect to the bluetooth, the radio will keep going even tho I am playing a different song through spotify. It fixes itself just by restarting the truck. I dont know what's causing it. Ha

I have a recommendation for your ram build: being that your in the winter and building a nice 4x4 truck. Maybe get the lower kick panels sprayed with line x to match the bumpers. Its something im wanting to do on my own

Steve, hit the gear hold on the steering wheel so you don't shift gears when you are hitting those corners. You keep it in gear and feather the throttle, brother.

Same thing happened today with CarPlay. Plugged up n the phone and i got the Bluetooth screen. Spent about 30-40 minutes searching menus in the truck and on the phone. Went inside to calm down. Came back, and everything was fine.

I swiped my cord to a new apple cord and never had the issue again; CarPlay is great now. The tube is the "marying tube" which helps Mary the body with the frame. I could never live back east or where they put that salt crap on the road. Not only that but the way the winter just beats up your vehicle, it's like burning money. Love living in San Diego! 75 degrees all year long.

It’s not the cord...I have had that problem too and many other issues with the 12inch screen. Ram bought my car back and ordered me a brand new one and I still have bizarre glitches with it. Ram claimed to have never seen my issues before but now tell me that there have been all sorts of “problems” with “new electronic technology “...very frustrating!

what are your thoughts on gas vs diesel? I could go with either. I was thinking more of a 3/4 ton truck. Any thoughts on mold and slime growing in diesel tanks? If it didn't matter to you, which is the best and I do intend on towing things. Also the eTorque vs the other basic 5.7 Hemi? Money is no object. Thanks!

Dani if you yow a lot a 6.7 Cummins is a good choice the def fluid is a pain but if a delete is in the cards that would eliminate that gas is a better daily driver in my opinion since maintenance is much lower but it depends on how much you tow

I have a 2019 Limited and have that same problem with the 12” screen. Changed cords, had updates, nothing worked. Either leave it alone for a few hours or you can try the factory reset procedure for the unit. Always seems to happen to me when I’m off in the middle of nowhere and kinda need the navigation on my phone to work.

Not a truck problem. The iPhone lightning port is a bit sensitive. Lint from your pocket is an issue. Any kind of moisture is a big issue. Even coming from a warm house to a cold day will cause some moisture build up. This is especially frustrating when plug into the wall and charging works but won’t sync with a vehicle. Androids have less of these issue but are not immune.

I haven’t had that problem ( yet ) ..... but I have noticed that when I play music from my iPhone through Bluetooth the speakers doesn’t sound as loud as if I use radio or XM radio don’t know if you have the same problem🤷🏻‍♂️

I have intermittent issues with my uconnect display but nothing I get worried about. They usually tend to go away after I let the truck sit overnight allowing the uconnect to reset. Most of the issues will eventually get fixed with software updates. All this technology is nice to have but no where near perfect.

Can you do a video about oil changes, I am about to do the first oil change on my 2019 ram rebel quad cab, I purchased an oil filter at the dealership and I’m. Concerned that it may be the wrong one, I believe there have been several filter modifications over the last few years.

Oh man, you bought white. I also have a 2019 white Laramie sport and I've noticed the white plastic is a different color than the white on the steel. Handles, fenders flair ,and white plastic under the headlights are a shade darker.

Might not be the Uconnect fault. Got a email from Garmin today saying the latest IPhone software update was causing problems connecting with my Garmin 830 bike computer, which I did notice didn’t connect right away last couple rides. Needed to get into IPhone settings and Bluetooth to toggle on and off a couple things. Haven’t checked to see if it worked yet. PS: Maxed out 2020 Laramie Longhorn spit out of factory sitting in loading lot waiting to be shipped to Ohio. Can’t wait to fill Ram Boxes with Great Lakes Christmas Ale for snow traction while making sure IPhone CarPlay is operating correctly.

I have the 2019 Powerwagon with the 12'' screen. Have you used the OEM navigation yet and tried to find POI? Mine is telling me it is searching "OFFLINE". I also notice driving around town there are a couple new road extentions that were opened about two years ago but show me driving through a field when I use them. Took it to Ram and they said there are no updates. Ram told me that I would need to find out who they get their navigation program from then contact them personally and see if they have any updates.

Had my rebel for two weeks have the issue sometimes, also had some other u connect related issues. One being no sounds issue which was resolved by disconnect of battery, and backup camera black screen which also was fixed with disconnect of battery and power down of truck 2 times. U connect 8.4

I had my hub replaced. I would get "USB Error" on the screen whenever I plugged my phone in. Phone would charge but carplay didn't work.

The Apple CarPlay issue happened to my mother-in-law’s brand new 2019 ram rebel. All I did was give her a brand new cord and it never happened again. Maybe it was because of the off brand cable? Still not sure.

Yep I have had that issue with the phone not connecting, sometime I have to shut the truck off and start over to get it to work. The sad thing is you can't make calls when your connected with the cable like you can with the bluetooth .

I get the same with my Chevy. Bluetooth connects but Apple car play won’t. Phone charges though. I switch to my girlfriend’s iPhone and it connects. Then switch back to my phone and it connects.

You also don't want to use a hitch plug. It traps salt and moisture. Ask me how I know.... You're btter off putting an anti rust coating on the whole hitch. Like Eastwooods heavy duty anti rust or woolwax.

That tube is for nothing especially on the rebels. Rebels never come with air dams and those 2 studs are where the air dams sit. That tube is just big for support.
